Invocation
Almighty and Ever-loving GOD. You have been very
generous to us. Today, we would like to return the favor of
Your goodness by reaching out to our fellowmen and
spread Your love to the community we serve. We need,
however, Your guidance, strength and wisdom.
Teach us, therefore, we pray to You, to search for ways
of responding to human needs; to direct human love unto
new and different roads of social concern and try to repair
the detours and roadblocks that people have made. Grant
us that deep human love needed to lay out the unshakable
groundwork for a healthy and Christian sensitivity toward
social problems; toward hatred, bigotry, poverty,
discrimination, graft and corruption, hunger and war.
Lead us not into social protest which sometimes is the
child of social awareness – for protest is short-lived and
negative. Grant us instead the other fruits of social
awareness, namely compassion, commitment and service.
Only through these productive ways, under Your
guidance, can we be true Rotarians. Amen.

Rotary Information…
The Concept of Vocational Service
The Object of Rotary is a philosophical statement of
Rotary‟s purpose and the responsibilities of Rotarians.
The concept of vocational service is rooted in the Second
Object, which calls on Rotarians to “encourage and
foster”:
• High ethical standards in business and professions
• The recognition of the worthiness of all useful
occupations
• The dignifying of each Rotarian‟s occupation as an
opportunity to serve society
As a Rotarian, how can you put these ideals into
action? Consider these suggestions:
• Talk about your vocation in your club, and take time
to learn about fellow members‟ vocations.
• Use your professional skills to serve a community.
• Practice your profession with integrity, and inspire
others to behave ethically through your own words
and actions.
• Help a young person achieve his or her career
aspirations.
• Guide and encourage others in their professional
development.
If you do any of these things, you are performing
vocational service. And if vocational service motivates
and energizes you, then you‟re in the right place,
because vocational service is the very essence of
Rotary. It is what sets Rotary apart from other service
organizations.

The President’s Corner Emmanuel “Noel“ Villa-Abrille
Club President
Greetings,
Last Sunday‟s bowling elimination was a big success,
our club managed to get a total of 790 making our team
the lowest in terms of pin falls. We have achieved our
goal to be in the Presidents Cup.
This coming Sunday will be the start of the championship
rounds, here we will show what us Southeners can really
do in terms of bowling. I am asking everyone to be
present and help cheer our champion bowlers to get the
highest pin fall that they can achieve.
Thank you very much Dir. Micheal and Spouse Merelyne
for hosting a very sumptuous dinner right after the
bowling eliminations. Anyone who would like to volunteer
for the fellowship after this Sundays game, please feel
free to approach me. :)
October still has a few fun events up her sleeve, like the
Pink October event at Abreeza this Thursday, everyone
is invited to join and our awaited Halloween Party this
coming October 25, do come in your most scary or
unique costume. Also, November 15 will be area 2‟s
Governors Night, come and see your President do the
moves during our dance number.
See you there!
