OF THE VETERAN .

To Whom It May Concern;

Please consider the following points as context for this letter: The Canadian Government designated 2005 “The Year of the Veteran” In this regard, we ask that your Board consider sending a directive to all principals asking them to initiate action, by becoming part of the “Torchbearers 2005” Project through their history or other interested teachers -this would result in their school being designated a “Torchbearer’s School” Becoming part of the “Torchbearers 2005” Project and the designation “Torchbearer’s School” can be achieved by ordering the “Lest We Forget - A Salute to all Veterans” commemorative CD featuring Vocalist/Entertainer/Songwriter Michelle Iurman and the merchandise items shown on the enclosed order forms to students, parents, relatives, guardians and the other community- minded school supporters When the “Torchbearer’s School” sells 70 or more assorted items, the school will receive an educational package which may be used to augment resource material already available within the school and used to teach students about Canadian Military History -the value of this package is estimated to be in excess of $500 Some of the content of this educational package is listed on pages attached to this letter and to be compiled by a select group of history teachers

It is our hope that every school embrace “Torchbearers 2005” Project, become a “Torchbearers School” and support Canada’s annual November 11’ Remembrance Day ceremonies by wearing the special attireherchandise (as outlined on the order forms) at the local cenotaph or in their school. A special plaque will also be presented to every “Torchbearers School.” Profits received will help fund a future history teacher’s seminar in the Fall of 2005.

Your support is crucial to launch “Torchbearers” 2005 Project. By doing so now, you will make this truly “The Year of the Veteran!”

To Whom It May Concern;

At this time, I am taking the liberty of presenting a possible Public Relations promotional scenario.

I am proposing a fundraising campaigning project entitled, “Torchbearers 2005” to support “The Year of the Veteran.” These funds will be used to create an Educational History Resource Package that will be given to a local school of your choice. This package includes the “Lest We Forget - A Salute to all Veterans” commemorative CD, featuring VocalistEntertainedSongwriter Michelle Iurman, performing renowned ballads and sing-a-long favourites. It also includes two very special original songs, “In Flanders Fields” and “Our Hearts All United, In God We Trust” written by Michelle Iurman, helping to bring our past to the present.

If you become part of “Torchbearers 2005” Project by selling a combination of 70 assorted items, (wholesale prices listed on merchandise forms) each “Torchbearer Store” would receive an Educational History Resource Package in the Fall of 2005. This package (valued in excess of $500.00) would be donated in their name to a local school. Our merchandise could be sold to recover the costs, and/or given to employees to wear on two very special occasions this year: . V.J. Day - the week of August 14*

Remembrance Day - the week of November 11”

During each week, you would be helping to keep history alive and honouring “The Year of the Veteran.” Thank you for your consideration in this matter and to look forward to your positive response!
