It was for our sake that he came down from heaven and for our sake he ascended to it, after becoming himself in all things like us, humbling himself even to death on a cross and after having touched the abyss of the greatest distance from God. For this very reason the Father exalted him and restored him to the fullness of his glory, but now with our humanity. God in man - man in God: this is even now a reality, not a theoretical truth.” A thought from Archbishop Nichols: We all know the title of Mary as ‘our sorrowful Mother’. We turn to her in our sorrows. Yet there is another tribute to her, even more deeply rooted in our tradition, it that of the Joys of Mary. These joys often numbered as seven, include the coming of the angel Gabriel to Mary at the Annunciation and the wondrous birth of her Son our saviour and her entry in glory into the happiness of heaven. We share in them because they are the joy of our faith. We are called to be heralds of this Joy in a world often in need of joy.

OUR SCHOOL will be joining with St Annes in Whitechapel on 31st August and our Mile End site is closing. There has been a school attached to our parish since shortly after the Parish opened in 1868, the loss of this school is not a total disaster but is a great disappointment. The current and future pupils will still be catered for at St Annes, St Elizabeth’s and St Agnes’s Catholic Primary schools, along with several others.

PARISH COLLECTION (MARCH): Standing Orders £2734; Planned Giving Envelopes £580.55 ; Loose money £801.37. Please note, the last collection at mass was on 15th March, any money given after that will be banked with April’s moneys.

If you are giving by Envelope and want to switch to a Standing Order to help the PARISH during this time please either email Cecilia at [email protected] and she will send you the necessary bank details, OR set up a standing order online using the bank details at https://parish.rcdow.org.uk/mileend/donate/.

Each Diocese/Eparchy/Ordinariate from Scotland, Wales, and England has been allocated a 'Rosary Hour'.

Pope Francis is encouraging Catholics to pray the Rosary in their family homes during the month of May, especially when the Pandemic is

making us aware of the value of our families and making it possible for us to pray together in lockdown at home.

He encourages simple Rosaries and joining online Rosary initiatives to pray to Our Lady for deliverance from Covid-19 and he has

composed two prayers for this intention.

"The Psalter of the Most Holy Virgin which we pray in order to

placate God's anger and implore her intercession." April 1573 - Pope Gregory XIII "Monete Apostolos"

In Jesus we TRUST

Our Lady of the Rosary, pray for us

Our Lady help of Christians, come to our aid!

St. Joseph, patron & protector of the Universal Church, pray for us

Saints of our Isles, pray for us
