Easter Sunday of the Resurrection – April 5, 2015 – This is the day the Lord has made.

Parish Mass Intentions

Sunday 4/5 People of the Parishes Saturday 4/11 (Jubilee) All Deceased of the Parish Sunday 4/12 People of the Parishes

On Wednesday, 4/8, there will be not be the usual 8:00am Mass at Holy Rosary, as Fr. Jerabek will be out of town that day. The regular weekly schedule will resume next week.

Our Prayers Go Out

For the Christian university students massacred in Kenya, and all persecuted Christians throughout the world.

For the sick, especially: for those with cancers, like Gabrielle, Michael Gregory, and John Wright; also for Daryl Robinson, Chris, Mary-Alice, Deb, Mildred, and Mary (Father Tony’s sister).

For our soccer players, and in gratitude for our beautiful soccer field.

For our growing reading program.

For a special intention for Romel.

For all of us, that God will fill us with Easter joy at the Resurrection of our Lord.

REMINDER! Easter Coffee and Fellowship

Join us next Sunday, April 12, after Mass in the parish hall for potluck, coffee, and fellowship. Bring a dish to share if possible. All are welcome – let’s have a good turnout to celebrate Easter! Fr. Jerabek has arranged for extra help at St. Barnabas so that he can stay at Holy Rosary and join in the fun. See you there!

NEW! Join Us for Soccer

Please join us for special evening youth soccer games tomorrow, Monday 4/6. The “under 10” team will play at 6:00pm and “under 12” will play at 7:15pm. These games will take place under the lights at Grantswood Field, just off I-459 in Irondale. Take Grants Mill Road to Grantswood Road (it’s between 459 and Old Leeds Road); the fields are about a mile down and parking is free; you should see the signs. Hope to see you there!

Many Thanks

Thank you to everyone who participated in our Holy Week services over at St. Barnabas. We thank in a special way our organist Isaac Johnson, who organized a wonderful choir from Samford University to sing so beautifully the “Reproaches” of the famous Renaissance composer, Tomás Luis de Victoria, on Good Friday during the adoration of the Holy Cross.

Thank You – Easter Flowers

Thank you to the anonymous individual who donated $100.00 toward Easter flowers. I have ordered five beautifully-prepared Easter lilies for the church. After Easter, we will plant them on parish grounds – I am told that they will often bloom again by Pentecost. – Fr. Jerabek

NEW! Next Parish Jubilee Mass

The Mass will again be celebrated on our historic high altar for the intention of all the deceased members of the parish since its foundation.

NEW! Have you brought Communion to a sick

person? Do you have a pyx?

Have you ever brought Holy Communion to a sick person in a hospital or in their home? Do you have a pyx (the round metal container used to carry the host) – whether it’s your own or one that the church lent you? (Or maybe you have an old pyx that a family member left to you?) If so, please bring it to Father Jerabek as soon as possible so that he can purify it. (Please do NOT do this yourself!) Thank you!
