Water Connection
PEX hose 1,5 m long opaque (hose of 4 m length available under part No. 1503885-02/0)
static pressure at connection point has to be between 2,5 and 5 bar
if more than 5 bar, a pressure-reducing valve has to be used (part No. to be defined)
minimum pressure of 2,5 bar is critical for soda preparation (adequate pre-sale information is very important to avoid complaints to which there is no solution)

Cooling & Carbonation System, Function
Cold water (2-7°C), with a pressure of 2,5 bars or higher, and gas are through the differential pressure valve and the separate non-return valves and via a split-connector led to the soda tank. In order to ensure that the pressure drop in the supply line immediately before the soda tank is large enough, a restriction is introduced flow wise after the non-return valve.
During dispensing a pressure drop large enough to allow carbon dioxide to enter occurs in the soda tank. During and after finished dispensing the soda tank is refilled by water until supply water pressure is regained.
Diff.pressure valve = Device allowing the incoming water pressure to pilot the gas pressure. The gas pressure shall be 0,4 - 0,8 bars lower than the water pressure.

Activation of the ValvesCold (Plain) Water Demand
Select cold water on the user interface, and then press cup against flap to activate microswitch (only light pressure to avoid jamming the actuator)The following valves will open simultaneously : (1) main fresh water valve,(2) cold water valve (red insert), (4) dispenser valve;
to end, release flap, and the valves close in the following order(1) and (2) immediately(4) after 150 ms
Activation of the ValvesSoda Water Demand
Select soda water on the user interface, and then press cup against flap to activate microswitch
The following valves will open simultaneously : (1) main fresh water valve,(3) soda water valve (grey insert), (4) dispenser valve;
to end, release flap, and a valve activation sequence is started:(3) closes immediately(2) opens for 400 ms to flush riser tube - this is to avoid pressure build-up when soda water in the tube is getting warmer (4) closes 150 ms after (2)(1) stays open for 90 seconds to fill soda water tank

Activation of the Valves
Maximum opening time for the valves (2), (3) and (4) is 2 minutes, after which they will be closed by the software indifferent of flap position
If required, they can be re-activated by releasing and pressing the flap again
the main fresh water valve opens every 15 minutes for 60 seconds to balance the pressure, but this action will stop if no dispensing action takes place for 12 hours

Float Switch
Float switch in water connection box is intented primarily to detect a leak from bad tightening of the hose nut (it can‘t work as an overall water protection)
If the float switch is activated, the light flashes to alert the user
The flashing of the light can be stopped by pressing any button, but theLED continues flashing until the fault cause disappears
After repairing the leak, the connection box has to be drained by pulling the plug from the drain hole
Filter Change
The carbon filter has a capacity of about 1000 litres, or 1 year, whichever comes first
The water quantity is estimated from the cummulated opening time of the main valve (750 minutes approx.)
The filter change LED will start lighting steadily when 20% of the capacity is left, and flashes when the filter is used up
To reset is the filter change LED, press the R.H. button for 5 seconds; resetting is possible only in the warning phase (LED lit or flashing)
Water quality permitting, the appliance can be operated without the carbon filter (which is connected into the water circuit via a crossflow valve)
Installation description
Water connectionConnect to a water ejector using standard connection hose.
Tighten by hand only.
Flush system for 2 – 3 minutes to evacuate air and to rinse system.
Installation of carbondioxide cartridge.Remove cabinet interior in front of service lid.
Mount adapter to cartridge, tighten by hand only.
Place cartridge in position.
Turn lever to secure bottle.
Installation of water filter cartridgePlace filter cartridge in position
Turn filter cartridge half a turn to lock (index in the plastic showing the correct position)
Preparation before use.Dispense 1,5 liters with “Carbonated water” as choice (to allow gas to enter)
Wait specified time before use to obtain maximum carbonation.
Changing and Installation of the CO2 Cartridge

Wiring
Component carrier, water control board. Position in top
SOURCEUser Interface („Water Module“)
SOURCEWater Control Board
is located under topcover
Self Test
After power reset, or after a power failure, the water module will always perform a self test
If all connections to the water module are OK, all LEDswill light sequentially, after which the dispenser lighting remains on, dimmed to 50%

FAQ : Door
Can the consumer reverse the door himself?– No, not even a service engineer, but the tools will be prepared
so both left and right hinge definition can be supplied from thefactory.
– To start with, only 1 PNC will be available (right hinged) from the factory
Is the system off when the door is open?– No
46
FAQ : Water Filter
Filter specification?–Standard claims (Odour and taste, chlorine, sediments and rust) 1micron
Can I replace it easily?–Yes (Cost 40-50 Euro for a new one)
Is there a system to block the water when I am replacing the filter?Yes a “cross flow system”
How often shall it be replaced?1000l or 1 year
Where can I find it?At the retailers via Distriparts
Can the system still work if I do not put a filter in place?Yes
How do I know I have to change the filter?Filter Indicator
47
FAQ : CO2 Cartridge
Can I replace it easily?Yes
How often shall it be replaced?Every 75-100 liters
Where can I find it?At the retailers via Distriparts
How much does it cost?10 Euro (to buy new one 23 Euro)
Can the system still work if I do not replace the CO2 cartridge?Yes but without CO2
Does it make noise?Yes slightly bubbling noise when filling
How do I know I have to change the CO2 cartridge?Flat water without gas
Can the consumer adjust the carbonation level himselfOnly lower the CO2 level by “manually” adding plain water
48
FAQ : Refrigerator
•Is there an impact on the energy class?
• No, we will still be able to declare A-class, despite the loss of net volume
•What capacity do I loose in the fridge?•Approx. 24 liter

Problems and Solutions
If the pressure is <2,5 bars– Unstable carbonation process risk for no carbonation
If the pressure is > 5 bars– To much gas, decreased capacity of carbonated water
Solution– Communicate to the end consumer
– Sticker visible at the moment of buy» In order to have a stable carbonation process and good sparkling water, make sure
that your water pressure is between 2,5-6 bars. If you are unsure about your water pressure at home please contact…….
– Informing retailer, sales force/sales desk
– IFU
Planned Improvements
Actions to increase carbonation level at low water pressure– Increase overall flow by using larger riser tube
– New insert in the double valve and dispenser head valve + increased inner diameter of hinge pin + new insert of dispenser head valve orifice
– Adjustable restriction– New component and change of cover
– Smaller difference pressure– Variant of existing valve
Improved overall flow, possibility for end consumer to adjust carbonation level and higher lowest level of carbonation.
Pre-set from factory, but end consumer can adjust with the support from IFU
Timing => Verification ready Jan-06
Water Pressure Mapping, Conclusion
With a range of 2,5 – 6 bars we cover about 80% of the households in Europe– Based on the answers from the survey
UK and Ireland– Could be problem, larger part of the households with
pressure <2,5 bars
