Memorial OpeningThe AppleCare family continues its expansion, and in September we added a new center in Savannah, Memorial Health | AppleCare Urgent Care. Working in partnership with Memorial Health, AppleCare took over management and operation of Memorial’s existing urgent care and occupational health location at Savannah Mall.

The partnership is an exciting one, in that it allows us to deliver our high-quality patient care to a new patient base in Savannah, while also benefiting from the strong reputation of Memorial Health and their healthcare professionals.

For Memorial Health, which serves a 35-county area in southeast Georgia and southern South Carolina, the partnership with AppleCare made perfect sense.

“AppleCare has quickly become a major player in the immediate care business in south Georgia, and we are excited about the opportunity to partner with them. They focus exclusively on urgent care, and we believe their experience and expertise in this category will help us better serve our patients,” said Bill Lee, Chief Strategy Officer at Memorial Health.

This joint venture is particularly significant because it represents an exciting new business model as we continue to expand the AppleCare brand throughout the area.

Stay tuned for another expansion announcement by the end of the year!

Introducing new surveys and newslettersWhile the tremendous growth we continue to experience at AppleCare is exciting, it can also make communicating with our ever-growing team more and more challenging. So, in an effort to ensure that every member of the AppleCare team is kept in the loop and their voices heard, we’ve introduced this employee newsletter, which will be distributed quarterly, and employee surveys, the first of which regarding your thoughts about our marketing activities was distributed to all of you a few weeks ago.

The newsletter will allow us to share exciting news, such as new center openings and expansions, highlight new additions to the AppleCare team, and share important employee information. Similarly, we hope all of you will take the opportunity and use the employee survey to share your thoughts with us.

These surveys are completely confidential, and will provide the leadership team with valuable information from a front-line perspective. After all, it is the dedication and hard work of all of you that keeps our patients happy, healthy, and coming back time and time again. So be it through the new survey or simply through an email, we want to hear your thoughts!

As many of you already know, we have been working with DXM, a Savannah-based targeted marketing group, to develop a comprehensive marketing strategy to help increase brand awareness throughout our markets, and drive even more patients into our centers.

We are excited to launch the first campaign, themed “In the Heart of Your Hometown,” this month, which includes a direct mail piece featuring magnets with contact information for the nearest center, and a four-week digital campaign that includes web and mobile display ads.

Keep an eye out for more campaigns in near future.

HR Corner 2014 Employee Assistance ReminderWe wanted to take this opportunity to remind you all about our new Employee Assistance Program, offered through Blue Cross/Blue Shield of Georgia, which launched on August 1.

This is a great resource for all of us, and we are happy to be able to provide it at NO COST to you. As outlined in the announcement email circulated at the end of July, the EAP is a valuable, confidential resource for employees to help manage issues in their personal lives. These issues include legal and financial referrals, tobacco cessation, family health, and addiction and recovery.

The EAP is available to all AppleCare employees (and their immediate families) who have met the waiting period requirements associated with our benefits eligibility. If you have any questions, or would like the informational materials resent to you, or if you have any questions, please contact Gavin Harper.

Letter From the CEO

It’s hard to believe that the last quarter of the year is already upon us, but what a year it has been!

The emphasis on smart growth and expansion continues to pay off, most recently with the announcement of our joint venture with Memorial Health and the opening of Memorial Health | AppleCare Urgent Care in Savannah Mall. The fact that a hospital system the caliber and size of Memorial Health chose AppleCare as their partner in this venture speaks to our growing reputation as a premier provider of patient care in the region.

Our increasing patient counts, as well as the overwhelming feedback we routinely receive from those patients, is directly attributable to the incredible team we have in place. And through this continued growth, we are excited at the prospect of developing the existing talent on our AppleCare team, and providing those high-performing employees with exciting career advancing opportunities.

Over the course of the year, we have held several meetings with clinic managers, team leaders and providers, all in an effort to ensure that we are responding to the needs of the company and all of you.

To this end, please be sure to complete the upcoming online surveys, and feel free to discuss any issues or concerns with your manager, team leader, provider, or any of the corporate staff. We are here to support you and help each of you be successful in your job.

Finally, as we head into the busy winter season, I want to encourage each of you to balance your work and family life, taking time to enjoy your family and friends. As Dale Carnegie once said, “People rarely succeed unless they have fun in what they are doing.”

As always, thank you all for your hard work and continued dedication to promoting AppleCare’s core values of Quality, Compassion, Effectiveness, Trust, and Teamwork.

Chase Finley, CEO

“(I am) grateful to have such an accommodating place to come. The City of Douglas is fortunate to have AppleCare.”
