The tested specimen is a junction box for cables system with circuit integrity maintenance, consisting of fire resistant cables and its accessories.
Said elements are fixed to the furnace ceiling.
Two different sizes of junction boxes are tested with two types of E90 cables (acc. to DIN 4102-12:1998.), forming 4 different configurations. Two identical specimens of each configuration are tested, adding up to a total of 8 specimens.

2.- TESTS PERFORMED Test according to DIN 4102-2:1977-09 “Fire behavior of building materials and building components. Building components. Concepts, requirements and testing.” And DIN 4102-12:1998-11 “Fire behavior of building materials and elements. Fire resistance test of electric cables systems required to maintain circuit integrity. Requirements and testing” section 7.3.3.5
3.- SPECIMEN ASSEMBLY
The specimens have been individually mounted on the furnace ceiling, made of concrete slabs. The boxes have been fixed to the ceiling as described above. Then the connections of the internal components of the boxes are made. In every tested box, one of the conductors has been connected to the ground through the structural board.. The remaining conductors (1 or 2 acc to each type of cable) are connected through the terminal blocks. The cables are then protected as described above, and the lid is placed and screwed on box. After the assembly, the laboratory proceeded to make the connections required to evaluate the circuit integrity of the system, according to DIN VDE 0472-814. The assembly has been carried out under the applicants´ responsibility.
Assembly conclusion date: 21.04.17

6.- CLASSIFICACIÓN AND FIELD OF APPLICATION
The specimens have been classified in accordance with paragraph 3.2.2 of DIN 4102-12:1998, and taking into account section 7.3.3.5 of said standard. With the results of the test, and complying with every parameter specified in the classification standard, the use of the tested junction boxes installed as described in a system of type (N) HXH E90 cables with circuit integrity maintenance does not cause a decrease in their fire resistance performance, hence the following classifications apply:
Fire resistance classification Junction box for electric cable systems required to
maintain circuit integrity.
Fire rated junction Box (FRJB/SE1035-A (FRJ01-FRJ06))
Dimensions: 150/350 (length) × 150/250 (width) × 100/105 (height) mm with connectors and (N) HXH cables as described above.
