1. RFID System Overview
What is RFID ?
RFID - Radio Frequency Identification
Technology that makes use of radio frequency transmission (3K to 3000GHz) to identify objects automatically
Radio frequency may further be divided into four major frequency ranges for different applications, namely low frequency (LF), high frequency (HF), ultra-high frequency (UHF) and microwave
Wide application to different areas including access & security control, item management, work process tracking, auto toll etc.
860MHz to 960MHz of UHF range is adopted in RFID application in HA maintenance

1. RFID System Overview
Why RFID but not their counterparts ?Compared with their counterpart like barcode, RFID has the following advantages :
Long sensing distance, eye sight not required
High detection speed
Read & write operation available
Higher reliability
Durable
Suitable in different environments
Higher data storing capacity

Problems encountered in pilot project is :-
1) Data transfer speed during upload and download is relatively slow;
2) Comparatively small screen size and large overall size of PDA;
Overall performance is positive and encouraging - Work efficiency and accuracy enhanced.
Possible exploration
1) Enhance features - Capture contractor’s performance assessment score
2) Extension to other BS trades with improvements in the problems encountered in the pilot

6. Integration with ERP
27
With the integration of ERP system andRFID integration, it is expected that :-
1)Monthly routine maintenance works ordering can be automatically set up in the system
2)Contract management, payment process, etc. can be proceeded more effectively
Design for integration is underway and the integration is scheduled to rollout in 2012.
6. Integration with ERP
28
1. RFID Application facilitates accurate, efficient and green operation in data management.
2 By the RFID application for keeping good inventory record and maintenance history of equipment etc, our services to the tenants can be further enhanced.
