Friends 65+
The next meeting of the Friends 65+ will be Tuesday, April 24th, from 1:30 p.m. - 3 p.m. in Grams Hall.
VCI CONSULTATION WORKSHOP
Saturday, May 5th
from 10:15 a.m.-3 p.m.
Please turn in your RSVP card to the mailbox in the lobby.
Do you love your church? Are you interested in its future? Then come!
This workshop is open to everyone in the church and will be led by our VCI coach Naomi Garcia. It is designed to go deeper than our time with her in March. It will answer the question of “why” we need to be having these conversations and why we cannot take church vitality for granted even when we feel we are in a strong place already. Several important concepts regarding the church in the world today will be explored.
There will be opportunity for input from participants before the VCI Consultation Team finishes our congregational report.
People in other churches who have attended this workshop have called it “excellent”, even “life-changing” and noted that they felt included and valued. Those who met Naomi Garcia on March 20th know that she left us both inspired and challenged!
Lunch and child care will be provided (children bring a sack lunch). Participants should be prepared
to come and stay for the whole workshop.
All Church Workshop - everyone in the church is encouraged to participate.
Sunday, May 6th
One Worship Service at 10 a.m. Following worship the consultation report will be shared with the congregation.
Town Hall Meetings
There will be three Town Hall meetings, designed to discuss the consultation report and prescriptions,
and prepare us for the church conference vote. The Town Hall meetings will be the same; you are not expected to attend all three.
Tuesday, May 8th, 6:30 p.m.; Tuesday, May 15th, 6:30 p.m.; Sunday, May 20th, 4 p.m.
Special Church Conference
The special session of the church conference is Monday, May 21st, 6:30 p.m. All are welcome.

at 7:00 p.m.: Immigration Issues
and Sanctuary People
The Education/Outreach team of Washtenaw Congregational Sanctuary - a county wide coalition of congregations and unaffiliated individuals, founded and led by the Interfaith
Council for Peace & Justice and Washtenaw Interfaith Coalition for Immigrant Rights - will present a 90 minute information
session on Thursday, April 19th at 7:00 p.m. at Chelsea FUMC. This is a free, public meeting open to all individuals and
community members looking to gain a better understanding of immigration issues, resources available in our community, and ways to support friends and neighbors who may be affected by the intensified and increasingly unjust activities of Immigration
and Customs Enforcement.
We hope you can join us to hear Washtenaw County stories and directly from WCS member congregations – St. Barnabas
Episcopal Church of Chelsea and First United Methodist Church of Ann Arbor – as they share what it means for their
communities to support the congregational sanctuary movement.
