CORONATION SCHOOL APRIL 2017 Dear Parents/Guardians, April is an exciting time of the year. Spring is here and with it comes traditions that we hold dearly and some other ones that we must say goodbye to. The much-anticipated Talent Show is coming up and we can’t wait! And sadly, our Indigo Grant is over. We were all very fortunate the last three years and our library has been packed with thousands of new books. There is no better sight than a book in a child’s hands. Please keep in mind that April marks the beginning of the examination period. Our students would benefit from lots of rest and sleeping early to help them focus and to have the energy they need. I kindly ask for your cooperation in this matter. Joanna Genovezos, Principal CORONATION NEWS Thanks to all the parents who came on Portfolio Night; our student-led conferences were a huge success! Our school-wide field trip to Chalet des Erable was really cool – both the activities and the weather! Despite the cold weather that day, we had a lot of fun and the taffy on the snow was a real treat! Congratulations to Tahsin Islam and Jaseale Anthonipillai who represented our school at the 2017 Storytelling Competition. We are all very proud of them. As part of their nutrition lesson, some of our PreKindergarten students baked kale chips. Not only did they bake but they also decorated their own aprons. Who knows, we might even see them on MasterChef Junior Competition! On April 12 th we hope to see all of you at our annual Talent Show. The students have been working very hard and they can’t wait to show you their talent. The proceeds of the Talent Show will support health in Haiti. A Volunteer Luncheon will be held on April 25 th to thank our volunteer parents who give so much. An invitation to those parents will be sent out soon.
