Word Study

Reading: RPI1. Read the article, “Recycling and Conservation Recycling; How it Works” and answer the questions. Open it in Type on PDF or Smart Forms. Before you start reading the passage read the questions first, then skim and scan it! Can you make a connection? Do you have questions about the topic before reading? When you are answering the questions go back into the passage to verify your answers! For the constructed responses, RAPP your answers. Restate the question, Answer in your own words, Prove your answer with text evidence, and Proofread your work!

2. Read on AZ Reading, Big Universe, Scienceflix, eSebco, or your Independent Reading Book for at least 25 minutes.

Writing: RPI1. Work on your Myth! Remember that myths explain a natural

phenomenon...why something in our world is the way it is. Work at the stage of writing you are currently at. You could be planning, drafting, revising, editing, or publishing your Myth.

2. As you work on your myth, check for development of your ideas, organization (plot), sentence sense, word choice, voice, figurative language, and details! Also, check your work for correct spelling, punctuation, capitalization, paragraphing, and grammar.

2. Work for at least 30 minutes and upload your work to Seesaw. Record what you have accomplished for the day!

Word Study: RPI1. Cut apart your Word Study words and listen to your lesson

on Seesaw.2. Check your sort with the answer sort to make sure you

sorted your words correctly! Then record yourself explaining your sort on Seesaw!

Both Play one or more of these apps to practice your word/language skills for 15 min: Grammar Wonderland, Bluster, Word Match, and/or Rymes N Nymes, or World’s Worst Pet.

1. For at least 10 minutes practice your Multiplication Facts using your Mad Math Lite App. Make sure you have your level set up to 10, and study at least 50 flashcards at a time! Take a picture of your best score and upload it to SeeSaw! Aim for a personal best

today!

2. ***If internet is available...Go to Study Island and complete a lesson & quiz and then play in Game Mode. Focus on the Multiplication/Division Lessons! Other math app choices: Sumdog, Lattice Grid, Rocket Math and/or Chicken Coop Fractions!

Science: RPI1. Watch the video, “Reading Rainbow How Trash is Recycled.” Think about what happens to your trash once you have thrown it away. Then, watch the video, “Eight Ways Kids Can Help the Environment.” Think about what can you do to help create less trash?

2. Find a piece of trash around your house that you could make something useful out of (for example: a coffee can, empty food box, milk jug, empty tissue box, paper etc.). Think about how you could reuse this item so that it doesn't turn into waste. Explain how you would repurpose the item and what you would use it for, on Seesaw.
