Sharpening the Saw This month our school-wide habit is Habit 7, Sharpen the Saw. Sharpening the Saw encompasses self-renewal, self-respect, and self-improvement. In kid-friendly language it means, HAVING SOME FUN! How does your child sharpen their saw? Please send pictures or videos to Mrs. Parnin at [email protected] for a school-wide “Saw Sharpening bulletin board”, we will also feature some of the submissions on our morning announcements! All examples are due by Friday, April 27th. We are looking for pictures of the students swinging on swings, playing their favorite sports, playing with their friends, or be creative and show us how your family has fun!

Birthday Lunch Celebrations
Celebrate your child’s birthday with a lunch date at school! This program is by reservation only and is
completely voluntary. Parents are invited to bring in a special lunch and/or treat to enjoy with their student at the
birthday table in the cafeteria during their usual lunch period.
Send in a donation to the PTA (amount of your choice) to reserve your date.
To guarantee you get the day you want, RESERVE YOUR DAY TODAY! Simply fill in the form
below, detach, and send in the bottom portion with a donation of cash or check payable to Amerman PTA OR pay
online at Member Hub www.amerman.memberhub.com. Please submit one separate form for each student.
Due to space limitations, celebrations will be limited to one per lunch period (see lunch schedule below). Summer
birthdays feel free to pick a day and celebrate a ½ birthday or other special day. Please note, that table seats a maxi-
mum of 4 people.
You will receive an email confirmation about a week before your lunch date. If you have any questions, please contact
Darcy Rechtien at: [email protected] OR text 313/820-7060.

Rewards Programs
Aunt Millie’s
Help us raise funds by saving specially-marked Aunt Millie’s, (SUNBEAM OR HOLSUM) and Soft ‘N Good bread bags. It’s easy! All you have to do is clip out and save the UPC codes on the bottom of the bread bags. When we collect and turn them in, Aunt Millie’s will pay us a nickel for every UPC. (FOR SEPT AND OCT, IT'S $.10 - SO IT'S DOUBLE) Those coins add up fast, and we can use the mon-ey for any school-oriented program.
Clipping and Saving UPCs:
Just save proof-of-purchase symbols (UPCs) with the School Spirit symbol from eligible products, and turn them in to
your teacher. The proof-of-purchase is the bar code and School Spirit symbol found on the bottom of the bread wrap-
per. Just clip it out! Please do not send entire bread bags.
Tyson Project A+
Purchase participating products; you can view the list here

• Cut out the label and submit into the container in the Amerman lobby or to your student’s teacher; include student’s name, teach-
er, and grade
Crayola Colorcycle
Don’t throw out those dried out markets, recycle them! Bring
in your old markers for the Crayola Colorcylce program!
