Introduction:

The Mexican Red Cross in Matamoros is fully committed to and actively promotesthe fundamental principles of the International Human Rights and the International Red

Cross and Red Crescent movements it is also dedicated to: emergency medical,

emergency disaster relief and rescue efforts. The organization works toward improving

health care services, disease prevention campaigns and other humanitarian efforts.

Community Reached 2009

+ 6,740 Total Free Emergency Ambulance Services Provided

+ 48,016 Total Patients attended at Matamoros Red Cross

Resources needed to cover operational costs are obtained

primarily from the annual collection campaign, which include donations

of cash or of medical supplies and equipment. Donations are received

from a variety of sources including Government Entities, Chambers ofCommerce, Charity Organizations and generous Individuals

Project 2010Build, remodel, adapt, furnish and equip Emergency Center of the Red Cross in

Matamoros in the neighborhood of Unidad Hogar.

Objetive:

Optimize and enhance emergency medical care.

Total community reached in this Emergency center:

33,480 individuals per year (avg.) receive medical attention and care.

Launch of construction:Last week of December 2009
