As our Area Catholic Community begins, my hope is that the Catholic presence in south and east St. Cloud will grow and become more vibrant. I believe this Area Catholic Community process will help to ensure that my two-year-old daughter has a Catholic Community to support her as she grows to adulthood.

It is my hope that the six parishes come together to create a vibrant ACC that can revitalize the parishes as one group that promotes growth in the Catholic faith.

My prayer for our ACC is to collaborate to enhance the many wonderful things each individual parish offers while creating new ways to empower past, present and future parishioners to be the best disciples God has called them to be. One of the great adages of soon-to-be-canonized Blessed John Henry Newman is, “To live is to change, and to be perfect is to have changed often.” My hope for the ACC is that the Holy Spirit will guide us and give us courage to create exciting new ways of experiencing church in a wider community context and to allow each of us, individually and as parish communities, to build upon and share with each other our unique charisms, all to become more perfect disciples of Jesus.

My prayer for this Area Catholic Community is that through thoughtful collaboration with other parish communities, we can uncover strengths, gifts and charisms that will strengthen our Catholic community here in St. Cloud. My hope is that we find new ways to reach out to our communities and share our incredible story that we have as Catholics. Our goal as parish communities should be to create disciples of Jesus Christ and share the good news of the gospel.
