As our Area Catholic Community begins, my hope is that the Catholic presence in south and east St. Cloud will grow and become more vibrant. I believe this Area Catholic Community process will help to ensure that my two-year-old daughter has a Catholic Community to support her as she grows to adulthood.

It is my hope that the six parishes come together to create a vibrant ACC that can revitalize the parishes as one group that promotes growth in the Catholic faith.

My prayer for our ACC is to collaborate to enhance the many wonderful things each individual parish offers while creating new ways to empower past, present and future parishioners to be the best disciples God has called them to be. One of the great adages of soon-to-be-canonized Blessed John Henry Newman is, “To live is to change, and to be perfect is to have changed often.” My hope for the ACC is that the Holy Spirit will guide us and give us courage to create exciting new ways of experiencing church in a wider community context and to allow each of us, individually and as parish communities, to build upon and share with each other our unique charisms, all to become more perfect disciples of Jesus.

My hope and wish for the ACC is that we accept, welcome and love one other as Christ wants us to.

My prayer for our ACC is to collaborate to enhance the many wonderful things each individual parish offers while creating new

ways to empower past, present and future parishioners to be the best disciples God has called them to be. John Donlin

My hopes for the ACC are: - to listen well for opportunities -to embrace the call “to make of all, disciples”

both within and beyond parish boundaries -to rekindle the fire of the Holy Spirit within the one Catholic Church by smart stewardship of the resources entrusted to our ACC’s six worship spaces.

Joe Ackerman

Parish: St. Augustine

My hope is that people in our parishes will come to feel comfortable participating in activities and events at other parishes in our ACC and find relationships around common interests. Each of us is a member of a parish, but all of us are also part of a larger Catholic community.

As a lifelong resident of St. Cloud, I have had the pleasure of being a part of each of the six parishes that the ACC now calls us to unite as one Catholic Community. With each having their own remarkable identities, the opportunities are endless as to how we will share, pray and grow as a community of our Lord’s Disciples.

My prayer for this Area Catholic Community is that through thoughtful collaboration with other parish communities, we can uncover strengths, gifts and charisms that will strengthen our Catholic community here in St. Cloud. My hope is that we find new ways to reach out to our communities and share our incredible story that we have as Catholics. Our goal as parish communities should be to create disciples of Jesus Christ and share the good news of the gospel.

Lucy Schwieger Parish: St. John Cantius

Family: Husband Sterling, five grown children, son-in-law and three grandchildren

Email: [email protected]

My hope for the Area Catholic Community is the opportunity to learn from each other and to work together for the betterment of all six parishes.

Rosie Rydberg Parish: St. John Cantius

My hope as an ACC committee member is to show the gifts our parish brings to the group and to see

how we can grow as we work together to find common ground and share our resources. Praying for the process is key, as we need to rely on the Holy Spirit to guide us through. Please join with me in praying as we move forward.

Jim Schleper Parish: St. Anthony

Family: Wife Deb with two grown children

My hope is that the parishes in our Area Catholic Community become stronger by feeding off each other’s strengths and are energized by the opportunity to grow our faith community. Our faith community is all about our relationship with Jesus Christ and each other.

My hope for the ACC is that every person seeking a home in the Catholic Church could find a hand and be given a sense of belonging.

I’m looking forward to pooling our efforts so that we may offer guidance to those that seek to build a deeper and more enriching relationship with God.

My hope and prayer is that our ACC helps each of us to grow stronger in our faith and allows us to share our resources and talents with each other in this faith journey. May we embrace change—and each other.
