Theatre on the Precipice of Change

When Oklahoma! premiered on Broadway, the tragedy of Pearl Harbor was fresh on the mind of the nation, and the United States had just joined the Allied Powers in World War II. Our country, and our world, was on the brink of change. This change also translated to a shift in popular theatre -- what had once been a vehicle for Tin Pan Alley songs was about to be reformed.

Oklahoma! was the first collaboration between the songwriting duo, Richard Rodgers and Oscar Hammerstein II. It was originally commissioned by the Theatre Guild to be written by Rodgers and Lorenz Hart, but due to Hart’s failing health, Rodgers had to seek a new partner.

This classic show was revolutionary to musical theatre. Previously, shows had primarily been written around pre-existing music -- lightweight plots tying together toe-tapping tunes. Oklahoma!’s plot was already a well-loved and respected one -- Lynn Riggs’ Green Grow the Lilacs was originally a Broadway play. When the Theatre Guild commissioned Rodgers and Hammerstein to adapt it into a musical, the pair recognized that they had to write songs that arose out of and furthered the plot. The pair ushered in the age of the “book musical” - a stark contrast to the plots of their contemporaries. Even the Dream Ballet at the end of the first act of Oklahoma!, choreographed originally by Agnes de Mille, served to further the plot, as it gave the audience a look into Laurey’s inner turmoil. Rodgers and Hammerstein also reinvented the storytelling structure of love in the Broadway musical. The love songs in the score of Oklahoma! may seem ubiquitous to modern audiences, but previously, characters would fall in love through the course of one song, as exemplified by classic statements of adoration, like “For I’m in Love Again” (Sweet and Low), “I’ve Got a Crush on You” (Strike Up the Band), and “Boy! What Love Has Done to Me!” (Girl Crazy). Alternatively, Rodgers and Hammerstein changed the semantics to “People Will Say We’re in Love,” and “If I Loved You” in their later work, Carousel, creating the “conditional love ballad,” a device that lent the characters more believability.

Oklahoma! is a show about a people on the precipice of change, and the show itself served to change the function of the Broadway musical. The clever writing style beautifully enhanced the plot and allowed the residents of Claremore, Oklahoma, to come to life, as they experience the excitement of the most important day in their lives.

Danny Gurwin (Director) – On Broadway, Danny starred in Little Women, Urinetown, The Full Monty, The Scarlet Pimpernel, A Little Night Music (NYCO revival, LA Opera, and The Kennedy Center), Kismet (Encores!), and How the Grinch Stole Christmas. Off-Broadway credits include Shakespeare’s R & J, Forbidden Broadway, A New Brain, The Thing About Men, The Most Fabulous Story Ever Told, and many others. Danny has also appeared in countless regional works, in addition to his symphony and concert career. He has guest starred on Desperate Housewives, Law & Order, and The Young & The Restless and can be heard on numerous cast recordings. He holds a BFA in Musical Theatre from The University of Michigan and is currently the Assistant Professor of Musical Theatre here at The University of Arizona. At The UA, Danny directed ART’s Nine, The Fantasticks, as well as the Senior Showcase of Talent 2013 and 2014, and Encore! 2013: Wouldn’t It Be Loverly - The Music of Lerner & Loewe. He has been an Adjunct Professor and directed at numerous universities and conservatories, including The University of Michigan, UCLA, Youngstown University, Clark University, and AMDA. His “Six Days of Broadway” Camp for kids 12-18 will enter its 5th sold-out year this Summer in CA. Danny also recently won the BroadwayWorld.com 2012 Best Featured Actor in a Musical Award for his work in Los Angeles and the 2013 Eddon Award for Best Male Cabaret & Concert Artist.

Monte Ralstin (Musical Director) – Monte worked 18 years in New York City as a voice teacher and performer. He performed in numerous regional theatres, national tours, and internationally. He was seen in the role of Mr. Snow in Carousel at Paper Mill Playhouse in Milburn, NJ, and Theatre Under the Stars in Houston, TX, and the national tour of On the Twentieth Century with Imogene Coca and Judy Kaye. On television, he was seen in the role of Pete with Eddie Bracken in the production of Show Boat (nationally broadcast PBS Great Performance series with two Emmy Award nominations). Monte was seen in the European production of Cats in Zurich, Switzerland, and the European tour as Old Deuteronomy, Gus/Growltiger, and Bustopher Jones. He was invited to coach at the International Theatre Workshop in Switzerland and presented a theatre workshop in Germany. While in New York City, he was an adjunct instructor at Hunter College in Voice and directed numerous musical theatre productions. The last two summers were spent at the Summer Music Festival at Hartwick College, where he directed, staged a musical revue, and taught classes to 13 to 17-year-old high school students. In April, 2012, he gave a musical theatre workshop also at Hartwick, and conducted another workshop in September at SweetBriar College in Virginia. Monte is in his 14th year on the UA faculty. During the 2010-11 year, he received the College of Fine Arts Charlie and Irene Putnam Award for Excellence in Teaching. While here in Arizona, Monte was seen as Sam, the bartender, at Hidden Valley Inn Productions and

as the Proprietor in Arizona Onstage Production’s Assassins. In the spring of 2011, Monte was seen in the School of Dance’s Premium Blend performances as a reciter in Façade, and in February of 2012, he was the narrator in Love Notes, again in the School of Dance. He is a member of Actors’ Equity Association, Screen Actors Guild, American Federation of Television and Radio Artists, and National Association of Teachers of Singing.

Mark Esposito (Choreographer) – Mark’s choreographic work has been seen at The Pasadena Playhouse (Camelot), The Hollywood Bowl (South Pacific starring Reba MacEntire & Brian Stokes Mitchell), The Reprise Series (Applause starring Sheryl Lee Ralph), La Miranda Theater, Musical Theater West, Sacramento Music Theater, Universal Studio Park in CA, Pittsburgh Civic Light Opera, Ogunquit Playhouse, Music Theater of Wichita, North Shore Music Theater, Bass Hall and Casa Manana, Blowing Rock Stage Company in NC (the first premiere of The It Girl), The York Theater Company (Billion Dollar Baby starring Kristin Chenoweth), and the Signature Theater in NYC (Dr. Sex), as well as at the Globus Theater Company in Novosibirsk, Russia, in the first production of West Side Story in Siberia. Mark has also served as the Choreographer for the holiday show Yuletide Celebration in Indianapolis, IN, with the Indianapolis Symphony Orchestra, starring Sandi Patti; the Associate Director and Choreographer for the Radio City Christmas Spectacular starring the Rockettes; and the Choreographic Casting Consultant for Tokyo Disney Resorts in Japan. As a performer, Mark has performed in over 16 Broadway & National Tours and has appeared on several TV shows, commercials, and music videos - most notable as Bright Eyes in Bonnie Tyler’s video, Total Eclipse of the Heart. Mark has taught and choreographed at several universities and conservatories, including UCLA, New York University, University of Michigan, UC Irvine, Point Park University in PA, Cypress Community College, and AMDA in Los Angles, and he is on staff at Broadway Dance Center in NY teaching an advanced musical theatre dance.

Shawn Cullen (Conductor) – Shawn is excited to be back conducting Oklahoma!, making this his sixth production with ART! He has enjoyed a diverse and multifaceted professional career as an award-winning educator, conductor, instrumentalist, and vocalist performing throughout the U.S., Mexico, and South America. Mr. Cullen has spent multiple years as Adjunct Faculty in the UA School of Music and serves in the role as Mentor Teacher for fine arts educators in Tucson Unified Schools. Mr. Cullen is a nationally recognized GALA Choruses Artistic Director currently in his fifth season with the Reveille Men’s Chorus and his first season with the Desert Voices Chorus. Mr. Cullen holds a Bachelor’s in Music Education degree and Master’s in Conducting degree as an alumnus of The University of Arizona. Love and thanks to Mom, NeNe, Didda, and my puzzle piece, Matthew. Always and forever for Dad.

Sandahl Masson (Costume Designer) – Sandahl is a third-year, MFA candidate for Costume Design, with Oklahoma! being her thesis production. She received her BFA in Theatre Design and Technology from the University of Evansville. Sandahl has also served as a Costume Apprentice at the Santa Fe Opera and Costume Intern at Maine State Music Theatre and the Houston Ballet. Credits include: Boeing Boeing, Cymbeline, Necessary Targets, Hay Fever, Force of Nature, La Rondine, and Silent Night. Thanks to the GPSC for their award of the Research and Project Grant, and the support of her friends and family.

Clare P. Rowe (Scenic Designer) – Clare is an Associate Professor of Scenic Design and Production for the School of Theatre, Film & Television, teaching classes in scene painting, rendering, and scenic design. She holds an MFA degree from the Maryland Institute, College of Art and has designed and painted scenery for professional and academic theatre and opera as well as for commercial trade shows and theme parks. Professional musical theatre designs include: Peter Pan for Musical Theatre Southwest and On a Clear Day You Can See Forever for the Music Theatre of Wichita. She has designed scenery for many ART productions, including Avenue Q, The Secret Garden, What I Did Last Summer, The Music Man, Candide, How to Succeed in Business Without Really Trying, Carousel, Hamlet, Oklahoma!, Twelfth Night, On the Razzle, I Hate Hamlet, and You Can’t Take It With You. She is the author of Drawing and Rendering for Theatre, Focal Press, 2007.

Raulie A. Martinez (Lighting Designer) – Raulie is very excited for his Senior Capstone to be such an amazing production like Oklahoma! Last semester, Raulie was the Lighting Designer for ART’s Boeing Boeing, and UA Opera Theatre’s Die Fledermaus. Currently designing for UA Opera Theatre’s The Magic Flute, Raulie feels extremely blessed for his four years here with ART and wishes to thank his amazing family; extraordinary team; best friend, Erica; and loving boyfriend, Hunter, for their support in this wonderful journey.

Matt Marcus (Sound Designer) – Matt is the Faculty Sound Designer for The UA School of Theatre, Film & Television and is delighted to be working with a terrific cast, crew, and creative team on this production of Oklahoma!. Recent ART credits include sound designs for The Secret Garden, Bat Boy: The Musical, Avenue Q, Love Song, Nine, and The Fantasticks. Other productions include the debut of Love, Sweet Love, a musical featuring the songs of Burt Bacharach and Hal David, along with national tours of Aida and Smokey Joe’s Cafe for Theater League; The King and I, Camelot, Bubblin’ Brown Sugar, and Dreamgirls for Theater of the Stars; and a national tour of Will Rogers Follies for Dallas Summer Musicals. In addition to his work in the theatre, Matt has run live sound for hundreds of national and international recording artists. He worked with the Pittsburgh Ballet Theater and the Pittsburgh Civic Light Opera, and he currently designs and engineers sound for the Tucson Symphony Orchestra. On hiatus from his audio career in the late 20th century, Matt was Property Master for the PBS children’s television program, Mr. Rogers’ Neighborhood. He is a member of the International Alliance of Theatrical and Stage Employees, and is the Apprenticeship Officer for Local 415.

Ted Kraus (Technical Director) – Ted is honored to be a member of the School of Theatre, Film & Television’s Design/Tech faculty in his second year at The University of Arizona. He came to The UA after spending 24 years working in regional theatre and production houses in Washington, D.C.; Atlanta, GA; and Nashville, TN; including seven seasons as the Technical Director for the Tony Award-winning Alliance Theatre Company in Atlanta, GA. In 2010, he earned his M.Ed. from Belmont University where his work focused on the use of Problem Based Learning environments, like the theatre, to teach critical thinking. Ted would like to thank all of his BFA, MFA, and TAR 111 students for all of their hard work on this and all of the productions produced this season.

Shannon Wallace (Stage Manager) – Shannon is a junior in the Design/Technology BFA program. She is thrilled to be making her stage management debut on this beautiful production of Oklahoma! Her previous ART credits include: Bat Boy: The Musical, Avenue Q, Love Song, Cymbeline, Nine, Boeing Boeing, and The Man Who Came to Dinner. She would like to thank the wonderful cast and crew for making this show possible, especially her SM Team: Jon, Jenise and Brandon; as well as her loving parents and endlessly supportive boyfriend, Brian Abbott.

Skylar Westberg (Dramaturg) – Skylar is a junior in the BFA Theatre History/Dramaturgy program. She is very excited to make her lead dramaturgy debut with ART’s Oklahoma! after her experience as Assistant Dramaturg on The Man Who Came to Dinner, and working on deck crew for Love Song and costume crew for The Fantasticks. Kevin Black (Dialect Coach) – Kevin is an Associate Professor of Practice in the School of Theatre, Film & Television, teaching Acting and Voice and Movement. He has coached dialects for ART’s Boeing Boeing, How I Learned to Drive, Hay Fever, Violet, and Bus Stop, and he was the Dialect Coach for Arizona Theatre Company’s production of The Importance of Being Earnest, directed by Stephen Wrentmore. He regularly appears in ART productions, including Cymbeline, As You Like It, Dracula, The Diary of Anne Frank, Leading Ladies, Titus Andronicus, and Henry IV, Parts I & II. A long-time member of Actors’ Equity Association, Kevin has acted at such venues as The New York Shakespeare Festival, The Shakespeare Theater at the Folger, Primary Stages (NYC), The Pearl Theater Co. (NYC), The Alliance Theater (GA), Indiana Rep, Delaware Theater Co., GeVa Theater (NY), Laguna Playhouse (CA), and Pacific Repertory Theater (CA). He played Paul in Invisible Theatre’s US premiere of Mesa; at ATC, he played George Wilson in The Great Gatsby; and appeared in The Last Red Book, The Narrows, and The Tortilla Curtain for ATC’s Cafe Bohemia. His onscreen acting credits include the films Getting to Know You (1999 Sundance Film Festival) and Capture the Flag (2010 Hamptons International Film Festival), directed by his wife, filmmaker Lisanne Skyler.

Brent Gibbs (Fight Choreographer) – Brent is a member of the Acting/Musical Theatre Division at The UA where he teaches Acting and Stage Combat. He is a member of Actors’ Equity Association and the Screen Actors Guild. A certified teacher and Fight Director with the Society of American Fight Directors, he has worked on fight sequences for

theatres from Thailand to New York, winning the Arizona State Theatre Award for Excellence in Choreography for his fights in the Southwest Shakespeare Company’s production of Henry V. He has taught master classes in Stage Combat around the U.S. and at the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art in London. This past year, he had fights in shows at the San Jose Repertory Theatre, Arizona Theatre Company, and Arizona Repertory Theatre. For four summers, Brent taught stage combat workshops at The International Theatre School Festival held in Amsterdam. For nine years, he served as Director and Fight Choreographer for one of the nation’s leading outdoor dramas, Tecumseh! He is the Artistic Director for ART, where he has directed Execution of Justice; The Crucible; Macbeth; On the Razzle; Much Ado About Nothing; Les Liaisons Dangereuses; King Lear; Absurd Person Singular; Hamlet; The Rivals; Pericles; Rain. ~ ACTOR PROFILES ~

Kylie Arnold (Aunt Eller) – Kylie, a senior, is excited and grateful to be here at The UA finishing her degree in Musical Theatre after having had a varied career. She’s performed at many theatres in Tucson, including Invisible Theatre, Gaslight Theatre, and Arizona Opera, just to name a few. She made her New York City debut in Platinum Taps - A New Musical, and recently originated the role of DeeDee in The D-Word: A Musical. For ART, she’s been seen as Mrs. Medlock in The Secret Garden, Azra in Necessary Targets, Guido’s Mother in Nine, and understudied roles in Hay Fever and Bat Boy: The Musical. She also enjoys singing with her Christian rock band, Souled Out. Kylie wants to thank the faculty and staff as well as her classmates for everything they have brought to her life over the last three years. Love you all!

Sarah Bartley (Ensemble) – Sarah, originally from Denver, Colorado, is a junior BFA Musical Theatre major. She is excited to be a part of the Oklahoma! ensemble and thankful that she got to work with Danny, Mark, and Monte. She was most recently seen as Mrs. McCutcheon in ART’s production of The Man Who Came to Dinner and has also played Annabella in the musical, Nine. Sarah would like to thank her Mom and Dad, supportive friends, professors, and God for their love, guidance, and knowledge throughout this incredible journey.

Jack Bennett (Andrew Carnes / Ensemble) – Jack is earning his first ART credit as Old Man Carnes in this production of Oklahoma! Mr. Bennett would like to express his great appreciation for his family - thanking in particular his ancestor Edward Tuberville Bennett for taking a chance and sailing to the New World in 1628.

Micah Bond (Jud Fry) – Micah is thrilled to be appearing in ART’s production of Oklahoma! He is a junior Musical Theatre major and native Tucsonan. Last year on the ART stage, Micah played Iachimo in Cymbeline and Trekkie Monster in Avenue Q. Most recently, you might have seen Micah as Beverly Carlton in last semester’s production of The Man Who Came to Dinner. Michael Calvoni (Curly) – Michael is a senior BFA Musical Theatre major from Scottsdale, AZ. This is his final role at The UA and he couldn’t be more honored to be ending it as Curly. Michael recently played Robert in ART’s production of Boeing Boeing. Other credits include Dr. Bradley in The Man Who Came to Dinner, Princeton in Avenue Q, Cymbeline, The Secret Garden, and more. Andrew DiGerolamo (Dream Curly / Ensemble) – Andrew is a Dance major at The University of Arizona. He is thrilled to be a part of this production and debut on the Marroney stage. Andrew has played the roles of Link Larkin in Hairspray and Warner Huntington III in Legally Blonde for local theatre companies in Baton Rouge, LA. He has also been a part of many other dance pieces performed here at The UA on the Stevie Eller stage. Andrew

Joshua Dunn (Tom / Ensemble) – Joshua is a BFA Acting freshman and is so grateful to be a part of this production. He was in Debut in the fall and is excited to make his ART debut in Oklahoma! Carolyn Fluehr (Gertie Cummings / Ensemble) – Carolyn is a junior BFA Musical Theatre major from San Francisco, CA. Her previous roles at ART include La Fleur in Nine, June Stanley in The Man Who Came to Dinner, in addition to an ensemble member in both Avenue Q and The Secret Garden. Carolyn was inspired to be a part of this production to work alongside such a talented cast and crew. She thanks her family for their constant love and unyielding support, her friends for undying laughter, her professors for playing such a critical role in this growth process, and God for making it all possible.

Daniel Gilmore (Ensemble) – Daniel has recently been seen furthering his dancing résumé. He has performed as both Fritz and the Russian dancer in The Nutcracker and Prince Florimund in The Sleeping Beauty. He recently was invited to sing the National Anthem for the 5th Annual Sahuarita Pecan Festival and, just last month, finished performing with Arizona Onstage Productions as Sparky in Forever Plaid. Jules Grantham (Dream Laurey / Ensemble) – Julianna (Jules) is from Tucson. This is her first production in her college experience, and she is ecstatic to work with the Oklahoma! cast! Ms. Jules is working hard and enjoying meeting new people. She is thrilled to be learning so much! Jules is hoping to move to a big city someday and begin her career on Broadway. She would like to give a big, warm thanks to her parents, family, and friends for their support and unconditional love!

Jamie Grossman (Ensemble) – Jamie is a sophomore in the BFA Musical Theatre program at The UA. She has been seen in Hairspray (Tracy Turnblad), Sweeney Todd (Mrs. Lovett), Legally Blonde (Paulette), and she understudied in ART’s production of The Fantasticks! “Thank you to Mom, Dad, Carly, Danny, Monte, Mark, and everyone else who was a part of the show!”

Hunter V. Hnat (Ali Hakim) – Hunter is very humbled to be taking part in ART’s production of Oklahoma!. As a local Tucson boy, earning the opportunity to be a junior in this company is a dream come true. You may have seen him as Prof. Metz in The Man Who Came to Dinner, Pisanio in Cymbeline, or perhaps as the Elephant Topiary in The Secret Garden, his ART debut. Grace Horrocks (Ensemble) – Grace is from Los Angeles, California. She has been dancing since the age of two and is a freshman BFA Dance major at The UA. This is her first musical, and she is excited to be a part of the process. She would like to thank Danny, Mark, Monte, and everybody else involved for the amazing opportunity.

Aubrey King (Ensemble) – Aubrey, a BFA Acting freshman, is very excited to be making his debut at Arizona Repertory Theatre! He recently graduated from Red Mountain High School, performing all throughout his years. Some of his past roles include Roger in Grease, Daniel in Once on This Island, and Laertes in Hamlet. He would like to thank his parents for being so supportive and Tyler Reaser and Sarah Ottley for being his best friends.

Ethan Kirschbaum (Cord Elam / Ensemble) – Ethan is from Prescott, AZ, and is a sophomore Musical Theatre major here at The University of Arizona. Ethan’s favorite high school productions in which he performed include Guys and Dolls (Nathan Detroit), The Fantasticks (El Gallo), and Oklahoma! (Curly). Ethan is also very proud to have been in ART’s production of The Man Who Came to Dinner (Sandy). Ethan would like to send many thanks and love to his family, friends, and supporters.

Ryan Kleinman (Will Parker) – Ryan, a senior Musical Theatre student, is humbled to be performing in his sixth and final ART production. He was most recently seen as Hucklebee in The

Fantasticks. Previous credits include: (in dance) The Nutcracker, The Little Tailor, and an original ballet, The Revival; (in musical theatre) Curly in Oklahoma!, Dickon in The Secret Garden, and Charlie Brown in You’re a Good Man, Charlie Brown. Ryan couldn’t be more grateful to his professors and directors for encouraging, teaching, and putting up with his shennanigans over the last three years. Brian Klimowski (Ike Skidmore / Ensemble) – Brian was last seen as The Mute in ART’s The Fantasticks. Previous credits include Miss Saigon (Chris), Hello, Dolly! Ariana Mai Lucius (Ensemble) – Ariana is thrilled to make her ART debut as a member of the wonderful cast of Oklahoma! Downing), for which she was an Irene Ryan nominee at The Kennedy Center American College Theatre Festival 2013. Dave Marr (Ensemble) – ART debut! Dave is a sophomore BFA Musical Theatre major from Walla Walla, Washington. Previously, Dave was not seen as an understudy for The Fantasticks at ART. Thanks to Danny, family, and friends!

Abby Mather (Ensemble) – Abby is making her theatre debut in Oklahoma! She is a Dance major at The UA and is graduating this May. She has received dance training from Cleo Parker Robinson, Kim Robards, Sam Watson, Amy Ernst, and many more wonderful teachers. Abby has also been given the privilege to perform and work with the Martha Graham Dance Company as well as Keigwin Dance Company.

Lindsey Mony (Ado Annie Carnes) – Lindsey is a senior Musical Theatre major and is thrilled to be a part of this beautiful and classic show. She was last seen on the ART stage as Berthe in Boeing Boeing. Other roles here include Maria in Nine and Girl Bear/Mrs.T in Avenue Q. She would like to thank Michael for his constant love and support, her friends and family, the cast and crew, and her entire senior class for being so incredible. Sarah Ottley (Ensemble) – Sarah is from Tucson, Arizona, and has joined us this year as a freshman in the BFA Acting program. Some of Sarah’s previous productions include 9 to 5: The Musical, Legally Blonde, and All My Sons. This is Sarah Ottley’s first ART production, and she is very honored to be able to work with the cast of Oklahoma!

Bill Patterson (Slim / Ensemble) – Bill is pursuing his MM in Piano Performance/Dance Accompanying. He received his BA in Saxophone while serving as the Drum Major for the POA Marching Band here at UA. He was most recently seen as the Pianist/Music Director for Arizona Onstage Productions’ Forever Plaid. Bill recently toured China with Artifact Dance Project as their pianist and is excited to be the Music Director for a production of Bat Boy: The Musical this summer. He has enjoyed playing in the pit orchestra for previous ART productions, and he is thrilled for this opportunity to be on stage!

Audrey Roberts (Ensemble) – Audrey is honored to be making her ART debut in Oklahoma!. At Prescott High School, she played Adelaide in Guys and Dolls, and Ado Annie in Oklahoma!. Ms. Roberts would like to thank the Lord for placing her at The UA. She would also like to thank her professors and director, Danny, for their wisdom and encouragement; her supportive family; Stephen; and her mentor, Silvia.

Rebecca Shulla (Ensemble) – Rebecca is originally from Madison, Wisconsin. She is a senior at The UA studying Dance and Communications. She has primarily been focusing on dance up until now, so she is thrilled to be performing in her first musical. After graduation, Rebecca plans on moving to New York to pursue her dream of dancing professionally. She wants to thank her friends and family for their continuous love and support.

Emy Stevens (Ensemble) – Emy feels blessed to be a part of this production of Oklahoma!. She is a sophomore BFA Musical Theatre major at The UA. Previous roles are as follows: June’s understudy (The Man Who Came to Dinner), Alice/Cynthia (The Bully Plays), and Sylvia St. Coix (Ruthless! The Musical). Jaclyn Stickel (Ensemble) – Jaclyn is extremely excited to be making her ART debut in one of her favorite musicals, Oklahoma!. Jaclyn is a sophomore BFA Musical Theatre major and a Southern California native. At La Habra High School, she performed in The Sound of Music (Maria) and The Drowsy Chaperone (Janet van de Graaff). Elizabeth Sutton (Ensemble) – Elizabeth is originally from Moorpark, California. She is currently a freshman Dance major at The University of Arizona School of Dance. While she has been a cast member of various dance shows, such as Three’s a Crowd, Oklahoma! is Elizabeth’s debut musical. Anthony Uzzanti (Ensemble) – Anthony has been dancing since the fall of 2010. Since then, he has performed with Scorpius Dance Theatre, both in the Phoenix area and internationally. He is currently a Dance major at The University of Arizona and is excited to be involved with this production of Oklahoma!.

Silvia Vannoy (Laurey) – Silvia is thrilled to be continuing her ART career as a part of the 2015 class. Some of her favorite past roles include Lorraine in The Man Who Came to Dinner, Gloria in Boeing Boeing, Lady of the Spa in Nine, Cherie in Bus Stop, Rizzo in Grease, and herself in the webseries, Spaces, Places, Faces. The goal of our Take Your Seat! campaign is to raise funds for the Showcase of Talent Endowment. The annual Showcase of Talent provides an opportunity for senior Acting and Musical Theatre majors to audition for, and interview with, industry professionals for theatre, film and television across the country. These potential employers also interview and review portfolios of junior and senior Design/Technology and Dramaturgy majors, as well as present valuable workshops to help students transition into the professional world.

Some of our students secure employment as a result of the Showcase of Talent, and all receive the priceless experience of interacting with working professionals.
