What are Emiliania Huxleyi ?
O Tiny armor- covered creatures that float along the oceans current.
O Type of plankton.O Is the base of the oceans food chain.O The plankton is a coccolithophore,
which means it makes it shell out of calcium carbonate.

How The Ocean Effects The Plankton
O Plankton can adapt and survive as the ocean becomes more warm and acidic.
O Even though they adapt they get flimsier and not such a nutritious snack to the consumer. They could turn into more of a “French fry”.
O The building of the shell of the plankton can be affected because if the ocean is more acidic it doesn’t contain as much as their shell material.

How The Adapted Plankton Effect The Food Chain
O Even though the plankton can adapt to the more acidic ocean the food chain can be affected.
O The water can effect how nutritious the plankton are to the consumers.
O The carbon-nitrogen balance becomes worse which affects nutrients needed by, the consumers such as zooplankton — tiny jellyfish, copepods and shrimp.
