1. Getting here

You can arrive at the airport by car, taxi or bus.

Car parks, taxi ranks and bus stops are located outside the terminal building. Trolleys are also available in these areas if you are travelling with luggage.

Please take a moment to find your nearest entrance to the terminal building. Once you’ve identified this, you can make your way into the airport to check-in. Photograph showing passengers

2. Checking inWhen you enter the terminal building, you should make your way to the correct check-in desk. If you have any questions or concerns about checking in please ask a member of our Welcome Team.

Different airlines are located at different desks so you should look for one of these signs (pictured right) which will help you find the correct desk. If you have arranged for special assistance through your airline then please look for a member of our team in a high-vis vest who can help you.

3. How to check-inIf you are checking in at a desk then you will need to wait in line to be served. This area will be busy so please be patient while you wait to be called.

When you check-in, you will be asked for your identification (passport or driving licence) and booking reference. You will then be given a boarding pass and asked to put your bags on the scales. Once a bag tag has been attached, your bag will be taken and loaded on to your aircraft.

If you have an electronic boarding pass then you can use a self-service machine and don’t need to go to a desk. These are easy to use and staff are there to help. Once checked in you should then take your luggage to the relevant desk to be weighed, tagged and dispatched to your aircraft.

If you have printed your boarding pass before coming to the airport you can drop off your bags and proceed straight to security.

To get to security you can use the escalators, stairs or lifts. Signs will point you in the right direction.

Things you may see and hear

The check-in hall is a noisy place but please don’t worry. You may see and hear:

• Cars, buses and other modes of transport

• Announcements over the speaker system

• Television screens

• Sound of luggage being rolled along the ground.

• We are currently building an extension to our airport so you may also hear loud construction noise.
