How do I register? Students with a student number who have been assigned the AADF major can register into courses through the Continuing Education website program page: https://www.georgiancollege.ca/academics/part-time-studies/programs/art-and-design-fundamentals-aadf/ Students can also register by calling 705-722-1511 or emailing [email protected] . Most courses are available for registration once the Add/Drop period begins for the upcoming semester. This is generally 2 weeks prior to the semester start date. (Some courses are available for registration earlier – you will see what is open on the CE website link above.) The Add/Drop period can be found on our main website under IMPORTANT DATES in the drop down menus. Or, contact Tammy – information at the bottom of this document and she can assist you with course availability and dates. Registration questions? Watch this how-to video!

What is the cost of the program? There is no program fee for this certificate program. Payment is per course, as you register. In order to calculate an approximate total cost to study the entire program part-time, calculate the course fee below multiplied by 12 as there are 12 courses required to graduate. Course fees for the Fall 2021 and Winter 2022 semesters for the AADF PROGRAM courses are listed as $323.40 per course (this may not be the exact fee). The fees for Communications and General Education courses vary. You can view the course listing for COMMS and GNEDs here: https://www.georgiancollege.ca/academics/part-time-studies/search-results/?area=General+Education+Electives+and+Communication&study=&campus= The course fees change year-to-year and course to course. The best source for accurate fees is to check the website: https://www.georgiancollege.ca/academics/part-time-studies/programs/art-and-design-fundamentals-aadf/ See screenshots on the next page for finding course fees.

What are the varying forms of remote delivery? (applicable for Fall 2021) You will see in the above screenshot the terms ONLINE and O-SLINE for the delivery/building-room for those two sections. Here are the definitions as well as an additional code you may see:

O-SLINE: Synchronous, meaning all students need to log on and participate at the day and time listed on your timetable.

Online: Asynchronous, meaning you can log onto the course whenever it works best for you.

O-BLINE: Bichronous, meaning your course(s) will be scheduled as synchronous, though will operate mostly asynchronously. Communicated by professor via Blackboard.

Can I transfer credits/use prior learning? The Credit Transfer Centre (CTC) assists with:

• Transferring courses completed at another accredited institution which may be eligible for transfer towards your education at Georgian.

• Prior Learning Assessment and Recognition (PLAR) – students can challenge course requirements based on relevant work or life skills and knowledge gained. More information on the above options as well as the processes to apply for exemptions, visit the CTC webpages: https://www.georgiancollege.ca/admissions/credit-transfer/
