The engineering measurement and layout ü Assess how many square meters of artificial grass are needed. ü Design how to place the artificial grass rolls. ü Romove or dispose any existing sod or materials to make sure the surface is clean and smooth enough to receive artificial grass. A leveling tool from DIY Store can be helpful. 2. Install your boarder ü Bender board or extruded concrete curbing are recommended and work great. You can also use your existing border. 3. Lay base material ü Decomposed granite(¼ minus) works great. In some regions where there is softer natural soil, an additional compacted aggregate base may need to be laid first. ü Grade base using grading rakes, take into consideration the general grade of the area for irrigation. ü Moisten and compact your base using a plate compactor or tamper.

Artificial Grass Installation Guide

1. The engineering measurement and layoutü Assess how many square meters of

4. Lay geotextile layer as the weed barrier.

5. Lay the grassü Use a carpet knife to cut shape for area,

and cut turf from the backing.ü Lay the grass on the surface according

to the design.ü Use a carpet kicker to stretch turf to

eliminate expansion from heat and helpsecure surface tightly to the ground.

ü Use 4-6 inch long spikes or staples tosecure the strech.

6. Seaming joints where two sections meet.ü There are many techniques for seaming,

professional installers use nails, glue,tapes, and stitching.

7. Trim the grass to fit edges close to walls orany shoulders and secure the perimeter withstaples or spikes.

8. Use a power broom to brush your turfü If a power broom can’t be sourced it is

possible to use a stiff nylon-bristledbroom or carpet rake.

9. Add infillü You can use silica sand, crumb rubber.

There are companies advertising “noinfill” products, though these aregenerally high density products withheavy secondary thatches we stillrecommend infilling all turf products. Itwill add years to the surface againsttrafficking and add weight to surfacehelping eliminate the need forre-stretching and maintenance.

10. Use your power broom to broom infill intothatch.ü Generally 5 - 10 kg per square meter

are adequate. The infill should fall intothe thatch and help your lawn staystanding up against all kinds of traffic.

ü Use a leaf blower to clear surface andclear debris.
