    1/1

Some educationalists argue that non-exam, arts-based subjects, such as

music, drama, art and craft, should be compulsory in the secondary-school

curriculum. They believe that activities such as these can improve overall

academic performance. To what extend do you agree or disagree?

Some people believe that students must attend non-exam subjects in theirsecondary school, whereas others think that it is more important for them to

concentrate on essential subjects such as Maths and Physics. Personally, this

decision could give both positive and negative eects to the pupils.

!ne reason that scholars should take these arts-based classes is that being

e"uipped with skills learnt in these classes can support the students to integrate

with the world easier. #n addition, this could make kids to stand more con$dent in

the crowd when they are possessed with a talent. %his is particularly problematic if

they are not able to be more outstanding, this situation later will lead themselves to

become more taciturn, who are not able to harmoni&e with the society. %here is

ample evidence that students with talents in these $elds compare to students whohave same level of education but lack in special skills will achieve and have more

relationships which help much in life.

%he oppenents argue that secondary students should attend in arts-based subject

because this can promote them to interact better with the society. 'hile it is true

that this bene$ts them much, the fact is that this overwhelmed students as they

have to beared a numerous works at school beside these subjects. (onse"uently,

this will increase stress, causing burden for students. Moreover, the students can

use the eorts that they have invested in these subjects such as time and materials

for other de$cient subjects that they are facing with. #n reality, the amount of time

using to $nish a drawing could be saved to evaluate more maths problems that aremore crucial.

#n conclusion, the fact that this adjustment have both advantages and

disadvantages is undeniable but in my opinion, the advantages outweigh the

disadvantages so this approach should be consider in both ways.
