Date and the Issue.

Differences with front cover

There is logo on the front cover of OK, which recognisable on the College student there is only a title.

More pictures on the front cover, whereas there are less on the College Student

OK is about celebrities and soaps, College Student is more educational

OK has a header but the College Student has a footer.

Main cover line is larger and stands out much more. There isn't a main cover line on OK but straplines instead.

Main Cover Image is clear and is the focal point

Main Head Line has the same colour scheme, College Student has challenged the conventions by having the Headline eon the three lines instead of one.

Page Features are in the left third, there is roughly the same amount of page features. They are spaced out and are in a column formation.

DIFFERENCES WITH CONTENTS PAGE

There are more images on DRUMMER magazine and they all follow the theme of music and so looks professional. On Student College it looks more random and doesn’t follow a specific theme and so doesn’t have much direction.

There is a footer, but no header of footer on DRUMMER

What have you learnt about the technologies from the process of constructing this product

My barcode was from Google. I saved into in my images and exported it.

I used a camera to take all of the pictures that were in my Front Cover and my Contents page.

I used Photoshop to edit and minipulate my images. I also made my Front Cover in PhotoShop.

In Design I made my Contents page.

I used an earthy theme of colours such as green, black, brown, to keep within the educational theme throughout. I used these colours on my Mast Head, Cover Lines and on my Header and Footer, it also runs through her hair colour and so keeps within the theme.

I added font with drop shadow effects and bold effects also, so that it doesn’t look like normal text but magazine like font.

I used a Medium Close Up image of a student and placed her in a specific way to create a magazine model look.

I challenged the conventions, by putting the Mast Head on different levels instead of just one. I made it bold by putting in a black block colour.

I used Photoshop so that the image of this student has no background, originally there was a building behind her to merge it into the page I edited this particular image.

I have used a Header and Footer to link the title of the magazine in with other pages. When a reader looks through the magazine they will see the name of the magazine running through it which makes it more proffesional.

I have put the features in columns so that it looks like a list also.
