M-banking technologiesApplication?Nokia's App Store will launch with 20,000 items
by Brad Linder (RSS feed), May 9th 2009 at 12:00PM
Samsung Application Store will go live from September 14by Samsung Hub, on August 31st, 2009Around 300 applications will be up for download and is expected to grow to 2000
apps by the end of this year.
Sony Ericsson Joins the App Store Crowd, by Kerry Capell , Technology June 3, 2009
By August its customers will be able to personalize their phones with a range of downloadable utilities, tools, and games over multiple platforms. Another differentiator for Sony Ericsson is that, thanks to Java, it aims to migrate the phenomenon of downloadable apps down from high-end smartphones—which typically cost upwards of $500 before rebates—into more prosaic "feature phones" that can cost less than $200.
The movement to apps, and away from old-school "browsing," is unstoppable. The iPad joins a growing list of new devices (Android, Kindle, etc.) that are app-primary, browser-secondary (note 3).
