Been in the role for 7 monthsDET NT has shown a commitment to the Studies of Asia through their employment of an Asia in Schools Project OfficerPositioned as part of the Languages Team at Darwin Languages Centre which also includes the Manager of Languages, Indigenous Literacy Team and Librarian of the Education and Training LibraryWork Wednesdays, Thursdays and Fridays.Cross-curricula learning involves learners in applying knowledge, principles, and/or values to more than one discipline or subject area which may be related through a central theme, issue, big idea or experience
Asia in Schools Project Officer will continue to provide a link and support for schools wishing to participate in Asia Education Foundation programs such as the BRIDGE project, study tours, federally developed professional development programs and the Leading 21st Century Schools: Engage with Asia Project
There is a new procedure for schools wanting to access assistance from officers in DETFor government schools: a letter requesting support needs to be sent from the school principal or Group School Principal to the Director of School Performance, the Director of School Performance then forwards the request to the General Manager CTPoL for approval.Schools can apply for ongoing support and I would recommend this for our L21CS principals
