Taking the risk out of “Made In China”:

Many factories in China look good when the first quotation comes to you. However, “Buyer’s Remorse” often results once PO’s are issued, tooling is completed and parts can’t be produced due to poor quality.

AMS practices disciplined concurrent engineering and analysis such as; FEA, Mold Flow Analysis, Pro-E 3D modeling, and DFMEA – PFMEA / DFX tools to design-in quality.

Upfront planning and analysis is more likely to result in the best possible quality, pricing and schedule attainment. Avoiding unplanned discoveries late in a project is always our objective.

AMS is comprised of seasoned professionals who have experienced the consequences of poor quality, planning & execution and brings that knowledge to bear on every project.

Lower cost products do not mean much if the quality is poor and we know this. All of our suppliers are ISO 9001 certified. However, we also know that ISO certification does not make a part meet specification. Attention to details does!

SLA Prototypes

Stereo lithography (SLA) prototypes are constructed from a liquid photopolymer that is selectively cured using an ultravioletlaser.

The process begins with a 3D CAD file which is mathematically sliced into 2D cross sections. With the build platform positioned just below the surface of the photopolymer, a scanning system is used to draw the first cross section on the surface of the photopolymer, which adheres to the platform.

When the layer is complete, the elevator assembly lowers the platform into the vat and the next layer is drawn, with each newlayer adhering to the previous one. The process repeats itself until the object is completed. Actual build times can range from under an hour to over a day, depending on the photopolymer, laser power, and the object geometry. Typically, a mechanical blade is used to sweep the surface of the photopolymer to ensure an even layer of resin for the next layer.
