• He plays center field for the Seattle Mariners.• Ichiro is known for his arm strength.• He is also known for his speed and in his

career has 386 stolen bases.

Daisuke Matsuzaka

• Daisuke was born on September 13, 1980 in Japan.

• He is a pitcher for the Boston Red Sox.• He has been struggling the past few seasons

and fans want him out of Boston.

Tiger Woods

• Tiger Woods is a quarter Chinese.• Tiger used to be a star golfer and is now pretty much

washed up.• He has been suffering with back problems this year which has kept him out of some tournaments. He could be out of the U.S. Open which is in a few weeks.

Yao Ming• Yao Ming was born on September 12, 1980 in China.• Yao Ming plays Center for the Houston Rockets.• He gets injured all the time but he will still ends up being

voted in by fans to the all-star game every year because of his popularity.

Hideki Matsui

• Hideki currently plays for the Oakland Athletics.

• He mostly plays Designated Hitter but sometimes will play in the outfield.

• Hideki won the World Series MVP in 2009 with the New York Yankees.

• Hines Ward is part Korean.• He was born on March 8, 1976 in South Korea.• He is currently a wide receiver for the

Pittsburgh Steelers.• He has won 2 super bowls and has been a 4

time pro bowl selection.

Kosuke Fukudome

• Kosuke was born in 1977 in Japan.• He currently is the Chicago Cubs right fielder.• When he came up with the Cubs he was a

promising star and he hasn’t disappointed.

Tsuyoshi Nishioka

• Nishioka was born in Japan.• Over the summer he was signed by the

Minnesota Twins and he now has a broken leg after a double play attempt and a runner slid into him at second base.
