Implementation of Criteria for Acceptance of Waste at LandfillsDirección General de Calidad y Evaluación Ambiental - MARM

Objective:Determine the level of implementation of Decision 2003/33/EC in Spain, proposal of technical solutions and future lines of development.

Scope:An exhaustive survey was carried out with the participation in writing and via personal interviews of the Waste Departments of the majority of the Autonomous Communities, as well as the main managers and Managers’ Associations in Spain. Additional methodologies and criteria for acceptance have also been reviewed and proposed, after a review of current practices and legislation of other European countries.

Result:The report presented serves as a basis for the forthcoming regulatory development of the RD 1481/2001 on the dumping of waste.

The Environmental Noise Directive 2002/19/CE and its development through the national Noise Law 37/2003 (Ley 37/2003 del Ruido), establishes its principal objective to prevent, monitor and reduce the damage that noise could cause to human health, property, or the environment.Within this framework, specific objectives have been established such as the drawing up of strategic noise maps (airports, rail lines, roads and urban concentrations), public information, and the adoption of specific measures to deal with local problems caused by local environmental noise pollution.Within this context, LABAQUA counts on their experience and equipment to help their clients to comply with new legal obligations.§ Noise measurements, testing and certifications

ü emission of noise to the exterior.ü Immission of noise to interiors.

§ Models for sound predictions.§ Strategic noise maps of urban conglomerations and

large communication infrastructures.§ Modelling prior to the installation of sources of noise

emission.§ Evaluation of the efficiency of corrective measures.

We hold the ENAC accreditation in conformity with the criteria of the UNE-EN ISO 17025:2005 standard, to carryout “in situ” testing of the ambient noise environment.

Implementation of ISO 22000 in potable water supplyEMATSA, AGBAR Laboratory, EMUASA

Scope:Creation of a Safety Committee.

Establishment of Prerequisite Programmes (PRP): cleaning and disinfection, pest control, water control, supplier control, training of handlers, good manufacturing practices, maintenance programmes, cross-contamination plans, traceability plans, waste management plans, etc.

Carrying out of Hazard Analysis: Likely hazards, assessment according to frequency and consequences to establish significant hazards = Operational Prerequisites (OPRPs) and Critical Control Points (CCPs).

Use of a decision tree or sequence to gain knowledge of which hazards should be considered as OPRPs and which as CCPs.

Preparation of Management Procedures and Operational Procedures.

The new Drinking Water Directive will involve a change of concept in the control of supplies, progressing to a preventive model based on health risk management and the implementation of the Water Safety Plans (WSP).

REACH implementation in Aerospace companyEADS-CASA (currently Airbus Military)

Objective:To determine the company’s obligations on the subject of the fulfilment of regulation 1907/2006 (REACH).

Scope:An exhaustive assessment was made of the production activity and the structure of suppliers and purchase movements. A study was also made of the casuistic of the acquisitions and manufacture of articles. The work represented an especially complex challenge in view of the enormous volume of movements and the complexity of the supply chain in the aeronautics sector.

Result:Numerous actions were proposed, prioritised and executed aimed at compliance with REACH on the subject of pre-registration, approach to registration, communication in the supply chain and inventory of SVHC substances in mixtures and articles.

06. Air Quality. Gas Treatment

We design the solution integrating every stage of the process

THE PROBLEM

THE SOLUTION

OUR ADDED VALUE

Generation of gases and particulate matter (dust) represent acomplex problem when it comes to interior air quality andatmospheric emissions. A problem that requires specific solutions

Conventional solutions based solely on "end of line" treatmentshave given ineffective results on numerous occasions

The SOLUTION must take into consideration the processes whichgenerate the gases, to minimize the flow to be treated (which alsoaffects the energy costs) along with adequate capture / ventilationand conduction and, finally, must consider the possible alternativetreatments. Only in this way can we guarantee the best solution atthe lowest costs of implementation and operation.

Aqualogy does not offer a catalogue of "filtration systems", rather itoffers a personalized solution. We evaluate the productionprocess and look for the best solution both technically andeconomically.

We offer “ad hoc” solutions with guaranteed independence fromspecific brand names or technologies.

Once we have the consent of the client to the best alternativesolution, we look at the detailed engineering, manufacture offiltration systems, supply of and supervision of the construction ofventilation systems, extraction systems, electrical switchboards andPLC systems.
