INTRODUCTIONThis expansion for Train Simulator is a development of a small selection of Temporary Speed Restriction (TSR) and Emergency

Speed Restriction (ESR) signs that we have been including in some of our Rolling Stock and Scenario expansions. This pack has been created to contain a wide variety of battery powered TSR signs and supporting items to allow you to place

authentic speed restrictions in scenarios dated from the late 1970’s through until the middle 1990’s.The speed signs come in a number of different types and are pre-configured with a wide variety of single and double speeds

along with directional arrows to indicate speed restrictions through a junction, termination T boards and SPATE boards for when a planned speed restriction has been removed. Flashing warning boards and a permanent AWS magnet to use in conjunction with signs are included. More recent additions include an Emergency Restriction Of Speed (EROS) board and a repeating board to be used where a platform is located between the warning board for a restriction and the point at which is commences.

INSTALLATIONInstallation should be straight forward and most people will only be reading this after they have installed the expansion! However, if you’re not sure what to do the process is pretty straight forward, a double click of the *.exe file that you downloaded

should launch the installer.Once running, the installer should automatically find the directory where you have Train Simulator installed, if not you can point

it in the right direction. All that’s needed now is to click through the options, agree to the License Agreement and let the installer do its stuff. If you do encounter any problems feel free to get in touch using the details in the Help and Support Section.

ThE ASSETSThe assets included in this expansion are split across three folders located in the FastlineSimulation section, and each contain

specific items grouped by theme or those items which are of a more general nature. Each of the assets shown is only an example and they can be found in a variety of colours and configurations which are

too numerous to list but can be found by browsing the relevant sections in the scenario editor. The description line includes the description for the pictured item as it appears in the item browser window.

The locations of each asset are shown where appropriate in the descriptions below:

NOTESThe plain warning board and EROS boards are also supplied in a 24/7 version which flashes all the time rather than emulating a

light sensor to only activate the flash at night. This may be of use in certain scenarios where the ambient light level is low due to time or the prevailing weather conditions and the flashing would be expected in real life.

The repeater board is also supplied in a free version which can be placed as though mounted on line side structures if this is desired.

FILE NAMING OVERVIEwThe assets in this pack use a standard naming scheme based around the following mask:FS: TSR Batt MountType Display (Colour)For example board may be named FS: TSR Batt Short Double 20/25 (B)This means a Short TSR board with double mountings displaying blue 20 mph and 25 mph differential speed restriction speeds.

USING IN SCENARIOSThe boards and associated items are all created to be placed in the scenario editor and will need to be enabled in the assets list

before you can use them. If you are unsure how the boards are used in real life we would suggest taking a look at http://www.railsigns.uk for a more general overview.

For detailed directions for setting up Speed Restrictions it would be advisable to take a look at GKRT008 and GKRT0075 documents available from http://www.rgsonline.co.uk/

COMPROMISESThe amount of reference material available on the TSR is sketchy so some compromises and assumptions have been made. These include the mounting for the EROS board which we have assumed uses the same battery pack and mounting as the

boards rather than the full shell plastic versions seen today. The short warning board with an included display panel is based on one photograph seen and may not have been in widespread

use, especially considering speeds should be displayed above the warning board. We have included a selection of differential speeds to give options for scenario creators., we have not included all possible

combinations as the number of different items created would have been overwhelming in the scenario editor panes.

hELP & SUPPORTIn the unfortunate event that you find a problem or things won’t work we really do want to hear from you. A good place to start would be the support section of our website http://www.fastline-simulation.co.uk/ which contains FAQ

and Tech Docs sections along with any updates or patches that have been released for our products.

Description: Repeater Board FS: TSR Batt Repeater Mounted

Period: 1992 - 1996

If that doesn’t solve your problem getting support is simple - just start a conversation about your issue by sending an email to [email protected] and we’ll get back to you as soon as we can.

ADDING NEw VARIATIONSIf there is a particular speed or differential combination you need for a scenario please do feel free to create by cloning, editing

and renaming one of the existing blueprints in the pack. You are more then welcome to distribute the resulting .bin file with your scenario. We would ask that you also send us a copy of the .bin file to add to future versions of the pack and to help keep things in line.

If there is a particular display for the boards that you require which has not been included please feel free to request it and we will consider creating it and adding to the pack.

DOwNLOAD LINKS AND DISTRIBUTIONWhen creating instructions on how to obtain the assets if they are used in a scenario you wish to distribute we would ask that

you provide a link to the download page on our website or a direct link to the file as shown on the page. You may only distribute any custom .bin files you have created as mentioned above with your actual scenario, no other parts of

the pack should be distributed with it.
