Assisted ConceptionTreatment

GyneHealth offer patients a unique, integrated approach thatcombines conventional medicine with complementary caresuch as nutritional advice, acupuncture, reflexology and counselling. We aim to provide the highest quality of care andour dedicated team of specialist practitioners work together to provide individually tailored treatments for every step of yourjourney.

Nutritional Therapy

Our nutritional therapists can identify potential nutritional imbalances and how these contribute to symptoms. Theyrecognise that each person is an individual with unique requirements and take time to define a personalised nutritionplan rather than giving ‘one size fits all’ dietary advice.

Research has shown links between successful IVF outcomesand a balanced diet. Foods rich in nutrients such as iron, folicacid and Omega-3 fatty acids were found helpful in ensuring ahealthy pregnancy. Ensuring the right amount of nutrients suchas, zinc and Vitamin C can also increase the percentage of normal sperm, sperm viability and sperm motility.

Being over, or underweight, can affect ovulation and maintaining a healthy weight will make it easier to conceive.Nutritional therapists are trained in the assessment of food and lifestyle practices and how they impact on both short and long-term weight gain.

Acupuncture

Acupuncture has begun to feature more prominently in mainstream healthcare in the UK, usually as an adjunct toWestern medicine and especially in conjunction with assistedconception. Acupuncture may help by regulating fertility hormones and increasing blood flow to the uterus, leading toan improved endometrial lining. There is also some preliminary evidence that acupuncture may help to increase egg production and improve their quality.

Research suggests that acupuncture may increase the amountof beta-endorphin, a chemical responsible for pain reduction, and reduce stress and anxiety levels, thus helping with assistedconception procedures.

Counselling

Counselling provides a safe and supportive professional environment where personal issues, concerns and difficultiescan be explored in a non-judgmental, empathic relationship. It provides confidential and dedicated time to discuss yourchoices and concerns about treatment with the intention ofgaining better self-awareness and understanding.
