Education World India Rankings 2017

IELC Kormangala was ranked number 4 in the category of Propriety Preschools in Bangalore at the Education World, Early Childhood Education National Conference 2018, on January 20 2018. It was a privilege to receive the award for the school and team!

A peep into learning! - Grade snapshots

Prep two This month the Prep two, students practiced their communication and presentation skills in front of their peers. They shared ideas about how they can use the food pyramid to guide them and communicated why we should eat healthy. Our end of unit focused on not wasting food and building this value in everyone.

Prep One As part of the unit on 'Playways', Prep1 students were introduced to constructive skills such as teamwork, problem solving and conflict management in play and also expressing themselves through negotiation and cooperation. They played various games to get acquainted to these skills, which also marked the culmination of the unit.

Reception

Students are examining their environment and exploring into Living and non-living and the characteristics of both. Interactive ICT games keep students engaged and revisiting their understanding of the concept!

Nursery & Pre-Nursery

Students in Nursery are enjoying learning through play. This month they have engaged in learning about transport and shapes through play. Students are developing their social skills and have started confidently expressing their needs and wants, turn taking and helping each other!

Professional Development

Teaching and non-teaching staff engaged in Basic Life Support (First Aid Training) conducted by Sakra Hospitals. Dr Savan Rao, Attending Consultant in Emergency Medication, led an informative and interactive session covering the common medical emergency and aliment situations faced in childcare.

Parent Advisory Committee (PAC)

At IELC, we believe that engaging parents in the education system activates a built-in support system. This works to help all the stakeholders in education be more effective and aware in their jobs. This is possible with an organized program, involving the school and parents in activities linked to the school vision and goals. A partnership program built on mutual understanding and trust improves the school, strengthens families, and increases student achievement and success. With this goal in mind, we have the Parents Advisory Committee (PAC) for the parents of Indus Early Learning Centre Kormangala. The selection for the committee is currently underway. If you are interested in becoming a representative of the PAC, do inform me via email.

Introducing post school enrichment class- Robotics

Robotics at the early years provides children with an opportunity to engage in application-based science in an experiential manner. Technology is critical for innovation in the world at present. Robotics will engage children in fun and hands on activity; demystify a complex technology and help cultivate confidence and 21st century skills at an early age!
