Course Description This one and a half day seminar that will provide information on the anatomy, surgical repair and rehabilitation of various hand and upper extremity conditions with focus on treating different age groups. It will include current concepts in wound care . An update will be provided on the latest Medicare and legislature changes. Two hands-on orthotic labs will be offered. Who should attend: *Certified Hand Therapists, *Occupational Therapists, * Physical Therapists, Advanced care providers Physicians, Athletic trainers, Therapy Students Course objectives -The anatomical and biomechanical rationales will be highlighted for participants to be able to continue developing and organizing their understanding of the Relative Motion Flexion (RMF) program - Participants will be familiarized to RMF guidelines for examination, management and progression of acute & chronic boutonniere and ET Zone III repairs - Participants will have a better understanding of the conceptual foundation of Relative Motion Extension RME and current program updates and the supporting literature - Therapists will have clinical pearls to return to their clinics about who’s, what’s and when’s of RME usage as well as guidelines for program progression, ADLs and return to work. -Participants will identify common pediatric hand and upper extremity conditions -Participants will learn different treatment options in pediatric patients versus adult patients-Participants will understand the differences in pediatric hand conditions versus adult conditions of the same nature. - Participants will gain understanding of orthotic considerations in the pediatric patient. -Participants will gain understanding on common Upper Extremity injuries in the youth athlete. -Will understand updates in legislation and reimbursement. -Participants will learn about of small joint injuries and fractures and management of stiffness. -Review Considerations in Clinical Decision Making. -Will learn about innovations in Hand Therapy and gain further knowledge of Treatment Perils -Will gain further understanding of current concepts in wound care and use of dressings.
