ATTENTION Clark Co. 4-H Sheep & Goat Exhibitors
Hello Sheep and Goat Exhibitors – Following are the requirements to show your MARKET SHEEP AND
MARKET GOATS at the Clark County 4-H Fair.
Please read all of the Health Requirements for the Illinois Department of Agriculture Bureau of Animal Health and Welfare as well as the Livestock Rules and Regulations for Clark County 4-H. These rules can be found in the Clark County 4-H Handbook or online at https://web.extension.illinois.edu/cce/ . NOTE - Scrapie tags are required for EVERY sheep and goat, breeding and/or market animal being shown at the Clark Co. 4-H Fair. (See instructions on getting USDA scrapie tags for your animals).
Following will be your requirements –
Fill out a Clark Co. 4-H Sheep Nomination Form (for market animals only) Enclosed
Fill out a Clark Co. 4-H Goat Nomination Form (for market animals only) Enclosed
Take a photo of the scrapie tag in your animal’s ear. o If you do NOT have scrapie tags – contact Toni Bell, USDA representative at 217-725-7852
(cell) or 217-547-6030 (office). She will take your information and mail your tags to you. DO NOT DELAY, allow time before the below deadlines!
Deadline for returning the above named form(s) by June 1 (May 15 for any IL State Fair Exhibitors – Sheep & Goats) along with one picture showing the scrapie tag in your animal’s ear (see picture on back) to the Clark County Extension Office, 15493 N. State Highway One, Marshall, IL 62441 or email to [email protected] .
Photo must be of the lamb or goat’s ear with scrapie tag installed in ear close up.
Failure to turn in the above forms along with the picture may result in that 4-H’er not being allowed to show at the Clark County 4-H Fair.
Correct Scrapie tag placement for sheep or goat. A scrapie tag is required for ALL sheep and goats, breeding and market animals. If you do NOT have scrapie tags – contact Toni Bell, USDA representative at 217-725-7852 (cell) or 217-547-6030 (office). She will take your information and mail your tags to you. DO NOT DELAY, allow time before the below deadlines! Example of photo showing the scrapie tag #.
