Two Part InspectionTwo Part InspectionTwo Part InspectionDuring part 1 the inspector physically examines all the component parts of the system including the safety devices. He is looking for corrosion, fatigue, creep etc. and if necessary will use ultrasonic / magnetic NDT tests to determine condition of vessels & pipework. On completion of the part 1 checks a certificate will be issued detailing any repair work necessary or allowing the system to bemade ready for part 2.During part 2 the system is put back to normal working pressure and then the inspector must witness operation of the safety devices eg. PRV’s and cut-outs.When the inspector is satisfied he will issue a new insurance certificate and the item can be put back into service. The database is then updated and new due date automatically created.
