Auditorio de Tenerife resident group Quantum Ensemble is made up of Cristo Barrios, clarinet, David Ballesteros, violin and Gustavo Díaz-Jerez, piano. They are joined by the best musicians to interpret chamber music in a conversation between the present and tradition. They will be playing “Elegiac”, a reflection on old age by Janácek; “Evocations”, where we can listen to Maurice Ravel and the influence Olivier Messiaen had on Tōru Takemitsu and, finally, “Zingaros” pays tribute to gipsy-Hungarian music with a selection of works by different composers who drew on this fertile musical tradition.

  • Óperade Tenerife

Ópera de Tenerife starts 2018 with a work by Verdi that is full of jealousy, betrayal and father-son conflicts, Don Carlo, featuring the voices of Josep Bros and Yolanda Auyanet, which are sure to thrill us. In contrast to Verdi’s Romanticism, The Magic Flute is one of the most celebrated Classicism operas of all times. Mozart’s last opera conceals, behind its fairy tale appearance, a reflection on masonry. Both works have unforgettable musical fragments.

Being channel, being air, being Lorca. Being his friends, his feelings, the music he listened to and the beat of his heart while he was in Cuba. This sort of catalyst of the poet’s world is the new role of actress Loles León in ¡Oh Cuba! Her role is determinant in the play: the Lorca spirit in Cuba, who dances, sings and recites the verses in the expressive language of the Granada poet during his stay on the island.

30/110:00 h Sala Sinfónica11:30 hWith their new show, the OFJT “Miguel Jaubert” leads us to a world where dreams come true. Our children are lost and they will have to fight against the evil Captain Hook and his pirates so that they can go on to become what they dream to be: great musicians. With the help of Tinker Bell’s magic and led by an adult Peter Pan, they will learn that growing up does not mean the end of happiness and giving up their dreams. Let no one ever tell them there is something they cannot do! Music is the thread that joins this wonderful adventure to convey its value to the youngest members of our community. It has a pedagogic foundation linked to the current curriculum.
