A Prayer For “Renew My Church”

Lord Jesus, you speak to us today, as you spoke to holy men and women

who have gone before us.In every age and in our own time,

you call to us and say: Renew My Church.

Pour out the gift of your Holy Spirit upon us, and so enable us to hear you clearly

to listen to each other attentively to imagine our future boldly

to discern your direction wisely to persevere in your holy will courageously

to stay together in charity to surrender our own plans readily

to embrace the greater goodto hand on your gifts to future generations.

May we remain in the holy company of the Blessed Virgin Mary, the apostles, and all the saints.

May their example and presence inspire us with patient confidence

in the work of your grace.

We ask this of you who live and reign with the Father in the unity of the Holy Spirit, one God,

forever and ever. Amen

aby przyjmować większe dobro i przekazywać Twoje dary przyszłym pokoleniom.

Trwajmy w świętym gronieNajświętszej Maryi Dziewicy, apostołów i wszystkich świętych.

Niech ich przykład i obecnośćnatchną nas cierpliwą ufnością

w działanie Twojej łaski.

Prosimy o to Ciebie, który żyjesz i królujeszz Ojcem w jedności Ducha Świętego, jeden Bóg

przez wszystkie wieki wieków. Amen.

A Brief History of the Rosary

The beginnings of the Rosary are found in the early Christian practice of reciting the 150 Psalms from the bible as a way of prayer. Those unable to recite the psalms began to

recite the Our Father 150 times, often using the beads to count the prayers.

By medieval times the custom of saying the "Our Father" beads was common in many countries in Europe. While saying the prayers, it was customary to meditate on the

mysteries of the life of Jesus.

The Rosary in its present form arose in late medieval Christianity by those who saw Mary as a great witness to the life of Christ. By the end of the 16th century, the practice of saying 150 Hail Mary's in decades was popular among many Christian people. The stories of the

New Testament, contained in the Joyful, Sorrowful and Glorious Mysteries were remembered during these prayers.

In 2002, Pope John Paul ll called on all Catholics and all Christians to pray the Rosary and enter "the school of Mary." The saintly pope also suggested that five mysteries be added. He called them Luminous Mysteries, or the Mysteries of Light, which include the mysteries

of Christ's public ministry from His Baptism to the Institution of the Eucharist.

Through the centuries, saints and ordinary Christians have found the Rosary to be a school of prayers and a source of spiritual blessing. It is both simple and profound, the rhythmic repetition of the words brings peace of the soul, and uplifts the mind to God...…………..

We Are One Family, Encircled by God’s Love!

Saint Turibius Parish

Parish Mission Statement

We Believe that God is Love, and when we live in love we live in God and God lives in

us! Therefore we, the Parish Family of Saint Turibius, dedicate ourselves to living out

Christ’s Great Commandment: we will love the Lord our God with all our heart, with all our soul, with all our mind, and with all our strength, and we will show our love for God

by the way we love and care for one another. To this end, we will respond to our baptismal

call, strengthened by the life, death and resurrection of Jesus Christ and empowered by

the Holy Spirit. As a Family of Faith that has an Attitude of Gratitude for the gifts God has given to us, we will share our time, our talent

and our treasure with each other. We welcome into our parish family all people, because we

believe that together we are the Body of Christ and together we can bring the love, peace,

forgiveness, healing, and joy of Christ into our community in ways we never could have if we were to remain apart. May all who meet us, who worship with us, who work and play with

us, know we are Christians by our love!
