Dear Praying Friends and Partners,

Lord, in the fullness of my might,

I would for Thee be strong:

While runneth o’er each dear delight,

To Thee should soar my song.

I would not give the world my heart,

And then profess Thy love;

I would not feel my strength depart,

And then Thy service prove.

O choose me in my golden time:

In my clear joys have part!

For Thee the glory of my prime,

The fullness of my heart!

(Thomas H. Gill)

Let us again join hands in praying with and for IVCF-

Philippines. That in the fullness of our might, we would

all be strong for HIM.

In Christ,

Shebel Solmia

Southern Luzon Regional Unit Praises:

We praise the Lord for our student-leaders who finished

planning for their campuses and are now running their local

IVCF groups. We thank the Lord for the guidance and wisdom

He has given.

We praise the Lord for the committed partnership of our GTs

and ISCF counselors in our 4 provinces: Cavite, Laguna,

Batangas, and Mindoro. With only 2 IVCF staff covering the

whole region, their partnership (coming alongside students)

has truly proven invaluable. We truly praise the Lord for them.

Prayers:

The region is in need of another full-time IVCF staff especially by

2nd semester. Please pray with us - that he/she whom the Lord is

calling to fulfill this role “for such a time as this” will hear clearly

from the Lord and respond with a “YES” and not delay,

regardless of the cost.

SLRU is the youngest of the 9 IVCF regions and we have yet to

establish a donor base for the region who will commit to give to

the regional fund and not just to their respective provinces.

Please pray for a committed pool of 10-15 donors who will

commit to give a total of at least 5,000 pesos per month to cover

our regional expenses this school year. Please pray with us. We

look to the Lord who provides. May we all have his strength to be

faithful as we serve Him with joyful expectancy.

them wisdom in planning and

the Holy Spirit’s leading in each of the

planning stage.

We continually pray that God will give us

passionate student-leaders, faithful

volunteers and dedicated advisers for this

school year. Students and volunteers who

are motivated by their relationship with

Jesus to advance the gospel on their

campus, willing to devote time, resources

and take risks for Jesus’ sake and have a

strong sense of initiative and ownership in

leading the campus chapter with

compelling vision.

She turned down our application for renewal of permit for

ISCF. Please pray for God’s intervention as our ISCF adviser

Ms. Edna Peque together with other Christian teachers will try

to persuade her to granting us permit this school year. Praise

God for these teachers who have the same passion in student’s

ministry.

There is much work to do here in the region and there are a few

of us. Help us pray for more Graduate Team Volunteers who

will give their time for the campus work. May the Lord raise

up people who He has appointed to work for the glory and

praise of His name among the student world. Pray, too, for

financial provision as we embark on this journey of bringing

Northern Mindanao Regional Unit

We praise God for the success of our Regional

Assembly last Sat., July 28.Most key leaders from

students and graduates group in Iligan, Cagayan

and Bukidnon were joining. Aside from ministry

reports, plans and budget discussion, some

significant issues were also tackled, that makes

the meeting challenging and fruitful. Truly, we

need to pray, prepare and persevere as the book

of Nehemiah challenged us through our speaker,

K. Rod Buenconsejo from SMRU. Indeed, we still

have so much to rebuild here. We need

Teamwork to make our dream works as our

Caraga Regional Unit Praise God for the first plan for the upcoming LCDC

2012. The Caraga Leaders’ Student Council’s

initiative came up with a good start on how we can

help meet the needs of our students in today’s

generation.

Please Pray for God’s continuing guidance and

wisdom.

Praise God for the positive response of the school to

the issue of Drug addiction an Anti-Drug Campaign

lead by a testimonial concert of Orlando Nuevo

theme says. We're on the process; continue to pray for

us.

We praise God that last July all areas were able to

conduct their freshmen treat/ back to school activities.

We welcome some new students to the fellowship.

Please pray that our student leaders, GT's and staff

workers would be diligent in our ministry among students.

Praise God for Bukidnon State University leaders who

already complied with their requirements for renewal of

the recognition in school. Continue to pray that our small

groups here will be strengthened.

Praise God for our GT's last year who renewed their

commitment this year and also for the new members.

Please pray for their availability and passion for the

students. This year we hope that our GT's will be more

HANDS ON in campus work.

We need to pray seriously and work responsibly. One

factor that weakens our ministry here is the lack of prayer.

Please pray for regular Daily prayer meetings (DPM) and

Day of prayer (DOP) to be revived.

Praise God for our IV- Reconnect program, a few GT

members keep in touch to our grads for prayer updates.

Pray that this will become regular practice to revive our

graduate ministry and strengthen our support group, both

in prayers and finances.

operational expenses & our regional general fund will give

regularly and faithfully.

Pray for the preparation of our LCDC. Pray, too, for the

their campuses and society.

Page 6: August 2012 Praise & Prayer

Southern Mindanao Regional Unit Praises:

Praise the LORD for the success of the Regional

Assembly last July 6-8 with the theme “Vision

Possible: fulfilling the Great Commission.” Rejoice

with us for the availability and commitment of our

speakers namely, Kuya Elvin Mijares (expositions on

Nehemiah), Ate Nellie Buenconsejo (Ordering your

Private World), Eleazar Canonigo (Christian Students

Counter Culture) and Ate Nida Mijares (The Gift of

Years: A Theology of Ageing).

Praise Him for the open doors of new campuses and

additional GT Volunteers. This includes the ISCF

pioneering group or chapters in Daniel R. Aguinaldo

Nat’l. High School in Matina, Davao City, Philippine

Science High School in Mintal, Davao City, Luna National

High School in Kapalong, Davao del Norte and UM-

Tagum High School Department in Tagum City. New GT

Volunteers are also signifying to start ISCF groups in

gatherings, and significant trainings that are happening around

the region.

Prayers:

Pray for a stable financial standing and additional new donors

for the region. As of July 29, based on this School Year’s Cash

Receipts and Disbursements, we are on the red by (P78, 496.70).

This figure reveals that we have been “borrowing” from a

designated fund. On the contrary, we have listed 486 graduates

(from database as of 2009 update) and 1,115 students (last

school year’s annual report) but only 30+ of them are regularly

giving to the regional funds. Please pray that at least 25% from

our statistical data will sacrificially share at least P30 every

month. Pray, too, that we will be able to explore new ideas for

income generating ventures.

Pray with us for a more favorable synchronized schedule among

the student-leaders, members and contacts. Pray for more

opportunities of the college work in Davao City and General

Davao Winchester Colleges, Sto.Tomas, Davao del Norte and in

Datu Balong National High School, San Isidro, Davao del Norte,

and a college chapter in Panabo City, Davao del Norte.

Praise the LORD for the missional student-leaders who are

helping other groups. UM Tagum Chapter regularly sent

leaders to assist the growing Discussion Groups and other

activities in the chapters of Aces Tagum College and USEP-

Tagum. Student leaders in Kidapawan and Midsayap are also

trying to continue their plans of pioneering ISCF groups in their

respective areas.

Praise God for the various creative freshmen treats,

evangelistic meetings, leaders council meetings, inter-chapter

Santos City. Pray for the new GT Volunteers who are

starting to act on their commitments.

Pray that there will be more organized graduate’s

fellowship in every strategic area in the region that will

meet regularly to support the student ministry in various

aspects especially in prayers. When student chapters are

starting to thrive, the enemy’s moves are also visible.

Graduates group will not only serve as financial

supporters and manpower, they are also the needed

prayer warriors.
