Directors message
Our July 17meeting was very informative. We had two members
from Australia visit us. Ron and Bev Noonan, who gave a very inter-
esting talk about their cars in Australia.
When they finished our guest speaker was Richard Brewbaker, with
myself interrupting on occasion. We had just returned from a car
show in Norway on July forth. The car show was for American cars
and motorcycles only. There was a between two hundred and three
hundred motorcycles. There was parking 0nIthe. lot for Three. thou-
sand cars and Trucks of all types, from rat roads, rust buckets. A few
from the twenties and thirties. Mostly very well maintained and
show quality. 'We had-the privilege of riding in a nineteen fifty three
Skylark owned by OlE and Josiene Jensen. This car has been judged
the best restored car in Norway" for several years. The only other
Skylark that I have ever seen that was as correct is in the Crevier col-
lection where we will be having our October fourteen car show.
Don't forget to contribute 'items for our car show raffle. You car due
this by using your credit card points to acquire these, or just donate a
new item.
Those who missed the Saturday July 21 tour to the Gamble H'ouse-
missed a special tour which I don't have room in this message to do it
justice. We had nineteen people who attended this great tour.
After our tour we enjoyed a great lunch at the HAT restaurant. For
those of you who have never been there the portions served are huge.
Don't forger our September fifteen tour to Oak Glen.
Contact Linda Wangerin or Richard Brewbaker.

Cover picture Dick Sweeney's 1961 Le Sabre
.ugust 30th 1997 - I was looking over Estates Sales in our local news
aper . To my surprise I found a1961 Le Sabre Conv. - Original
wner and a brief description. That's how I found "Red Rider"! It
.idn't take me long to jump in my truck and head to what was later
he Perfect Find. The car was in a run down garage, four flat tires,
,0 battery and the drivers side was up against the garage wall so I
ould not open the door. Thru the dust I could see that it would
lake a very nice Classic Carl
Nhen I approached the seller there was someone else that wanted to
uy the car a's well. The culprit offered an acceptable price:and she
ccepted however. the guy told the seller that he would need to have
Is mechanic look it over first. I stepped up and handed the seller the
ame amount in cash arid told her that a tow truck was on its way to get
the car: The deal was done ! The owner bought the car in.Minnesota and a month later she moved
to San Diego and 'that's 'where the car spent.all its time, hense no rust.
.For the next 10 years or so I accumulated many NOS parts and op- . ., . ,
ions and did repairs as needed. Finally it was ready for its first .
hawing and in July of 2009 my wife and I drove Red Rider to the
:CA National Meet in Colorado Springs, Co. We had no problems
.nd enjoyed the Show and took home a trophy. We have done many
shows after that and received many awards .
Red Rider" is equipped with just about all options Buick offered
nth the exception of A/C. It has Guidematic , TwiLite Sentinal ,
Vonderbar, Power Window, Original Seat Belts (NOS in red ),
lower Antenna, Tissue Box and the list goes on !
We love the car and" Red Rider" will be in our barn for a long time.

OCBCA GAMBLE HOUSE TOUR
! Nineteen participants traveled to Pasadena. We "oohed
and awed" over the fabulous workmanship and design
of this historic home. Is is amazing that a 103 year old
house could still be in such remarkable, .original condi-
tion. This is a must see for anyone interested in Califor-
nia history.
We had lunch at the local Hat Restaurant, ate until we
were stuffed, an , then headed home. We had an excel-
lent time, and fun for all attendees
