REFLECTIONS
WE GOT YOUR BACK-PACKED
It is Back to School Time again and many
congregations in the Mountain View Dis-
trict are filling up back packs with school
supplies. We are blessed with an opportunity to support our
educators, students and school support staff with our prayers,
presence, gifts, service and witness. School has become a
dangerous place but Followers of Jesus The Christ do not
shrink from evil in this world. We Christians, you and I don’t
need to retreat, run or hide when the powers of darkness rears
its ugly head. When the school bell rings everyday let every
man, woman, boy and girl know that we, The Body of Christ,
Got Your Back-Packed with our prayers, presence and Love.

I need your help Pastors and Congregations:
You will notice on The District Calendar sched-
ule of events that there are times designated for
Pastors meetings, District Conference, and
Charge Conferences. It is the expectation that
every Pastor would attend those scheduled
meetings and with the help of every Congrega-
tion we can. The Pastors fellowship is a Sacred
Gathering, a time of preparation, education and
edification for all of us.
If we cannot gather to Worship Almighty God,
how can we Lead?
I understand there will be emergencies, in such
case contact the District Office as soon as pos-
sible.

Care Ministry Training

Pastors and laity are invited to participate in a
training session (train-the-trainer), led by Rev.
Susan Groseclose, for Lay Congregational Care
Ministries, to organize and equip laypeople to
provide one-to-one Christian care to hurting
people in and around their congregations.
Following the training session at Ebbing and
Flowing Springs UMC, 327 Ebbing & Flowing
Springs Road, Rogersville, participants are
invited to a fellowship picnic.
