Some of the world’s most charismatic marine creatures convene in a once-a-year confluence of fins, fur and fangs... On Monday, August 31, following Big Blue Live, don’t miss WPBT2’s original award-winning Changing Seas at 10pm & 10:30pm. JFK & LBJ: A TIME FOR GREATNESS Tuesday, August 4 at 9pm Discover how LBJ worked behind the scenes to ensure JFK’s legacy thus transforming America. President LBJ is chiefly remembered for the Vietnam War. But 50 years ago, he engineered two of the most important laws Congress ever passed, the 1964 Civil Rights Act and the 1965 Voting Rights Act. This August, WPBT2 brings you some marvelous music memories from Frank Sinatra and Andrea Bocelli to fan favorites, Simon & Garfunkel in Central Park and Motown’s 25th Anniversary. We also have tickets available during the broadcasts of Il Volo, Straight No Chaser, Andrea Bocelli, Dudu Fisher and the incredibly talented The Tenors. Also, tune in to the following new music programs: STARLIGHT BALLROOM Saturday, August 8 at 7pm Celebrate the golden era of swing with this glorious look at the orchestras, bandleaders and singers who ruled the radio and dance halls. Featuring Perry Como, Doris Day, Benny Goodman, Tex Beneke, Peggy Lee, The Mills Brothers and more. GIADA VALENTI: FROM VENICE WITH LOVE Wednesday, August 12 at 8pm Born in Venice, Italy, Giada Valenti takes the stage and guides audiences on a romantic journey in her first PBS special. She will perform her own interpretations of songs made famous by renowned artists Etta James, Shirley Bassey, The Beatles, Edith Piaf, The Doors, and Bruno Mars to name a few. 60s & 70s SLOW SONGS Sunday, August 16 at 6pm Relive memorable nights of slow dancing and romancing to favorite love songs, featuring unforgettable classics from Andy Williams, Dusty Springfield, The 5th Dimension, Engelbert Humperdinck, Anne Murray and others.
