OverviewWhat is Aurasma? Image recognition augmented reality for mobile devices. Aurasma can place images, video and 3D models within a recognised environment. It is basically the evolution of Google Goggles.

The future or a fad? Naesayers think this tech is a pointless fad. It is up to advertisers to make the experience engaging and rewarding.

Competition? Sony Smart AR, Layar, Blippar and 2AR are competing developers using the same technology. Google would be a likely competitor too but there hasn’t been any evidence so far. Aurasma is the first in the market with an app live for iPhone.
