ACEL WA awards 2016 Australian Council for Educational Leaders ACEL (WA) AWARDS 2016 An annual highlight of the Australian Council for Educational Leaders (ACEL WA) is the Branch Awards Ceremony. This ceremony honors educational leaders who have made a significant contribution to the improvement of student and organizational outcomes. This contribution is reviewed against set criteria which have been based on the AITSL Australian Professional Standards. Evidence provided must demonstrate impact at the system, state or national level. Research that has influenced significant change is highly valued. Members are invited to nominate an individual who has made such a contribution. The 2016 Branch Awards will be presented at the ACEL (WA) sunset evening. Tuesday 17 May 2016 at 6.30pm Lakeside Room Bendat Parent and Community Centre, Dodd Street, Wembley Nominations must be received by Monday April 4 2016. Excellence and Leadership in Tertiary StudiesThis award is made available each year to the most outstanding post-graduate student in Education.

Research in Educational Leadership and ManagementThis award is made each year to the most outstandingpost-graduate research that focuses on educational leadership.

Teacher Leader Award for ExcellenceThis award is presented to a teacher who has demonstrated outstanding leadership.

Certificate Of Excellence in Educational Leadership This Certificate of Excellence recognizes excellence in educational leadership at the State, National and/or International level.

ACEL (WA) Honorary FellowshipACEL (WA) presents Honorary Fellowships to those who are not ACEL members but who are acknowledged as outstanding leaders in the practice and/or theory of educational leadership. The criteria is similar to that of ACEL Fellowship with the nominee being expected to have made a significant contribution to the improvement of student and organizational outcomes at the state, national or international level.

Evidence in nominations needs to be mapped against the same criteria as that of the award of Fellow.Honorary Fellows are permitted to use the post-nominal FACEL (WA) (Hon) after their name.

THE AWARDS

ACEL(WA) FellowshipACEL (WA) presents Fellowships to those who have, over a period of time, made outstanding contributions to educational leadership at the state, national or International level.

Evidence needs to be mapped against the following criteria:1. Leading teaching and learning2. Developing self and others3. Leading improvement, innovation and change4. Leading the management of the organization5. Engaging and working with the community6. Contribution/s to the profession beyond the

professional role

Nominees must be an ACEL member (or if retired, must have been a member at the time of retirement).Members receiving Fellowship are permitted to use the post-nominal FACEL(WA) after their name.

Nominees can come from all sectors of education – early learning, primary, secondary, tertiary et al as long as their contributions meet the set criteria outlined above.

Pre-eminent Educational Leader AwardACEL (WA) presents this award to a Western Australian educator whose contribution to the study and practice of educational leadership is assessed as most outstanding at the State (and/or higher level).The documentation to support a nomination should focus on the outstanding characteristics of the nominee and the reasons why this person’s contribution should be judged as most outstanding.
