English Language Level For non-native English speakers, it is essential that you can provide proof of your language skills. In order to be eligible for the internship program you need to have an IELTS Level 6.0 or upper-intermediate English level. If your English is not at the required level upon application, you can travel to Australia on either the student, working holiday visa or visitor visa to complete an English language course. - You can complete 4 – 12 weeks English on a visitor visa - You can complete 12 – 48 weeks English on a student visa - You can complete up to 17 weeks English on a Working Holiday Visa Once you have reached the appropriate English language level you are ready to start your internship! The Australian Internships team will conduct a free interview with you to assess your English language skills and internship objectives.

Recent School Leavers An internship is an excellent way to gain work experience before you start your studies. However, as a school leaver there are certain things that you must be aware of before you enter the program. Due to the nature of internships in Australia, school leavers who have no relevant experience or qualifications will have to be prepared to accept an internship which may not be related to their future studies. However, our aim is to find a placement in an organisation that provides very good interaction in English with the opportunity to greatly improve the four skills (Reading, Writing, Speaking and Listening) and the chance to develop essential workplace skills. Although the skills will be at a low level there will be a good variety of tasks which helps the intern gain the confidence required to operate in an international workplace. Please supply us with any additional information to demonstrate your skills, experience and ability to be considered for a specific industry or field. Common internship positions are in office administration roles giving you an introduction to the working world!
