Following its recent release in the Japanese domestic market the Revo ALX has hit Australian shores. Based on high quality components, light weight design the Revo ALX incorporates new technology including the Salt Shield Concept bear-ing and AMGearing™ systems within the compact Revo design.

SSC (Salt Shield Concept) bearing employs newly developed ball bearings that are coated with a water-repelling shield which greatly reduces rotation noise caused by salt adhesion improving operation and durability.

SSC is applied to key HPCR (High performance corrosion resistant) bearings to provide an increase in durability, smoothness, and corro-sion resistance, improving performance in all fishing conditions.

The AMGearing™ System combines a precision machined aluminium gear with our COG (Computer Optimized Gear) gear design, result-ing in a gear system that has been optimized to give the ultimate in smoothness and durability.

The C6 carbon body and rotor provides significant weight reduction without sacrificing strength and durability.

Revo ALX is equipped with the Rocket Line Management System, which is a combination of bail angle, spool lip design and slow oscilla-tion that gives anglers the ability to cast further and manage line more effectively.

Dedicated to light to medium tackle lure fishing from bream on hard bodies through to snapper on plastics. With 6 models in the series ranging from 2000 to 5000 sizes. All models feature 7+1 bearings with super smooth carbon drag systems with drag force from 3kg to 10kg depending on the model.

1: 2 bearings were placed side by side and completely submerged in experimental salt water. White spacers were placed un-der the bearings so that salt water would get inside the bearings from the bottom.

2: Beginning of the experiment. No difference was detected on 2 bearings. (Left: normal stainless steel ball bear-ing. Right: Salt Shield ™ ball bearing.)

3: 2 days passed. The normal ball bear-ing was covered with red rust. Salt crystals were detected on the normal ball bearing as the salt water naturally evaporated. In contrast, no remarkable difference was detected on the Salt Shield ™ ball bearing.

4: 4 days passed. The salt water evapo-rated completely and the normal stainless steel ball bearing was covered with salt crystals and red rust, while no remarkable difference was detected on the Salt Shield

SSC (Salt Shield Concept) bearing employs newly developed ball bearings that are coated with a water-repelling shield which greatly reduces rotation noise caused by salt adhesion improving operation and durability.

SSC is applied to key HPCR (High performance corrosion resistant) bearings to provide an increase in durability, smoothness, and corrosion resistance, improving performance in all fishing conditions.

Salt Shield ™ An experiment was conducted where a Salt Shield ™ Ball Bearing and a normal stainless steel ball bearing were submerged in experimental salt water (salt concentration 5.5%) and left for 4 days until the salt water evaporated completely. Experimental salt water of 5.5% salt concentration. Average salt concentration of natural sea water is 3.5%

ALXREVO ALX combines Abu Garcia’s latest Salt Shield ™ technology within the light weight and compact REVO design.
