We’ll learn how the Pond-Deshpande Centre at University of New Brunswick acts as a catalyst for social innovation by building a pipeline of young change makers with the confidence and tools to turn ideas into impact through our Student Ambassador Program, by investing in and accelerating early stage impact ventures in our Be.For.Change Social Venture Accelerator, and through multi-sectoral systems thinking via the provinces’ public and social innovation lab, NouLAB. 1:30 – 3 p.m. General Session VII: International Panel: What We Can Learn From Each Other, Including Perspectives on the House of Commons INDU Recommendations for Canadian IP and Technology Transfer

Flanigan, National University of Singapore Oscar Javier Solorio Pérez, University of Colima, MexicoThe recent House of Commons INDU report on IP and Technology Transfer included 12 recommendations that support the commercialization of academic IP. Learn how professionals from other countries have addressed similar issues. In particular, KT Ireland has built an extensive suite of Model Agreements that offer a starting point for commercial transactions (recommendation 9). The National University of Singapore is launching a new gap funding initiative (recommendation 7). In Mexico, RedOTT is participating in the Leaders in Innovation Fellowships program, which is delivered by the UK Royal Academy of Engineering (recommendation 6).
