Risotto Cooking TipsForoptimumresults,Sunbeamrecommendsstirringthericehalfwaythroughthecookingprocess.Thisallowsthericetobeagitated,activatingthenaturalstarchesintherice,whichwillresultinanaturallycreamier,smootherrisotto.Iftherisottoisnotcookedtothedesiredlevel,standontheKEEPWARMsettingforseveralminutes,or,switchbacktotheRISOTTOsettinguntiltherisottoiscookedtothedesiredlevel.Moreliquid(waterorstock)canbeaddedifneeded.IfrisottoissittingontheKEEPWARMsettingforanextendedperiodoftime,stiroccasionallysobrowningonthebasewon’toccur.

BeforeusingyourRisottoandRicePerfectforthefirsttimewashtheremovablecookingpan,lid,ricemeasuringcupandservingspooninwarmsoapywater.Rinseanddrythoroughly.
1.Usingthericemeasuringcupprovided,measureouttherequiredquantityofrice,makingsurethatthericeisalevelcupfull.RefertotheRiceCookingChartsonpage 8.
2.Placethemeasuredriceinasieveandwashricethoroughlyundercoldwater.Continuewashingriceuntilwaterrunsclear.Makingsuretoshakeoffanyexcessliquidoncewashed.Thisremovesexcessstarchwhichwillmakethericefluffier.
3.Ensuretheexteriorofthecookingpaniscleananddrybeforeplacinginsidetheheatingvessel.
4.Placethewashedriceinthecookingpan,andaddcoldwater.Makesurethatthericeisspreadevenlyinthebottomofthepan.
5.Replacethelid.6.PresstheMENUbuttonuntiltheRICE
lightisilluminated.Whenriceiscooked,theunitwillbeepandautomaticallyswitchtoKEEPWARM.

Tips for cooking rice
1.Forfluffierrice,addalittleextrawater,forfirmerricereducetheamountofwater.Byaddingtoomuchwater,excessmayoverflowduringcooking.Itisrecommendedtofollowthechartsonpage8,andthenadjusttoyourlikingwhenthecookingcyclehasfinished.
2.BrownriceandArborioriceneedmoreliquidtocook,whichresultsinthebuildupofstarchybubblesfoamingaroundthelid.Thiscancausespittingfromtheairvent.Bywashingthericethoroughlythiscanbereduced.
