CLIP ART COLLECTION VOLUME 2 contains over800 pieces of "business" clip art to use with THENEWSROOM. This collection of clip art is designedspecifically for communicating in the businessenvironment. You will have dozens of businesscategories to choose from and, as usual, there is anice balance between realistic art and cartoon-likecharacters.
The additional clip art provided in this volume can beused in conjunction with The Newsroom Clip Art diskand Clip Art Collection Volumes 1 and 3, giving youover 2600 pieces of clip art to choose from.

Your IBM PC must have dual-headed drives to readboth sides of the disk. You will access both Clip ArtA and Clip Art B when the disk is inserted into thedrive, label side up. You will not need to flip the disk.

Using the Clip ArtIn THE NEWSROOM
Clip art from the CLIP ART COLLECTION VOLUME2 disk can be used in the BANNER and PHOTO LABwork areas of THE NEWSROOM in the samemanner as you use clip art from THE NEWSROOM'soriginal Clip Art disk.
All cursor control keys and selector buttons remainthe same as described in THE NEWSROOM instruction booklet.
Loading clip art
To load a piece of clip art into the BANNER orPHOTO LAB work area:1. Select the desired work area from THENEWSROOM menu. You will be brought to the workarea.2. Once you are in the work area, insert the clip artdisk into the disk drive.3. Select the clip art icon [!] at the top of theleft side of the work area. A list of clip art page titleswill appear which corresponds to the clip art pages inthe Clip Art Overview at the back of this book.4. Move the selector bar up and down the list of titlesuntil it is on the title of the clip art page you wish toload.5. Select that title by pressing the selector button orkey. That page of clip art will be displayed.

Changing clip art disks
If you wish to load a clip art page from a different clipart disk, or a different side of the clip art disk, (Appleand Commodore users) follow steps one throughthree in the Loading clip art section, then:1. Remove the present clip art disk from the drive.2. Insert the different clip art disk or side that youwant.3. Move the selector bar to the NEW DISK optionand press the selector button or key. The clip artpage titles from the new disk will be displayed on thescreen.4. Move the selector bar up and down the list ofpage titles until it is on the title of the clip art pageyou wish to load.5. Select that page title by pressing the selectorbutton or key. That page of clip art will be displayed.
Cancelling clip art loading
To return to the work area without any clip art, movethe selector bar to the CANCEL option and press theselector button or key. You will be returned to thework area without any clip art.

TIP 1:
Tips on using Clip Art There are endless creative possibilities for using clipart in The Newsroom. Here are some helpful tips toget you going.
You can flip clip art. Select the clip art icon I!l toload your clip art piece(s) into the PHOTO LAB orBANNER work area. When your clip art is loaded,select the flip icon [Bffi , move the cursor onto theclip art piece to be flipped and press the selectorbutton or key. Always flip the art before modifying itwith the graphics tools. Modifications cannot beflipped.
TIP 2: Reverse a piece of clip art into a silhouette. Select apiece of clip art that has a distinct or recognizableshape. Load it into the PHOTO LAB or BANNERwork area. Select the crayon icon I=~ and go to theGraphics Tools Window. Select the black fill patternand return to the work area. Use this to fill the interior of the clip art. If any unblackened areas stillappear, go to the magnifying glass icon ~ anduse it for detail editing.

TIP 6: Reverse a piece of clip art out of a blackbackground.
Here are two different ways to do it.
Load a piece of clip art into the PHOTO LAB orBANNER work area.
1. FramedDraw a box around it.
Go to the Graphics ToolsWindow and select theblack fill pattern and thelargest pen •. Return tothe work area and completely blacken out theimage.
•Next, go the the GraphicsTools Window and selectthe hand. Return to thework area and move thehand onto the black area.Pick up the hidden pieceof art and move it off thescreen, leaving an inversed image.

2. Free Form BackgroundLeave it alone.
Go to the Graphics ToolsWindow and select thelargest pen •. Return tothe work area and completely blacken over thepiece of art. Whateverblack pattern you drawwill remain there later.
Next, go to the GraphicsTools Window and selectthe hand. Return to thework area and move thehand onto the black area.Pick up the hidden pieceof art and move it off thescreen, leaving an inversed image.
TIP 7: On the page of clip art labeled TIME1, you will find avariety of clocks without hands or digital numbers onthem. We did this intentionally so that you couldpersonalize them to the exact time you want.
To put hands on your clock, select the crayonicon I=~ and go to the Graphics Tools Window.Select the lines option and return to the work area.Start the line at the center of the clock and draw thehour hand. Then, start at the center again and drawthe minute hand. You can easily use the magnifyingglass to draw an arrow at the end of the hands.
To put digital numbers on your digital clock, go to theTIME1 page of clip art and load the clock and theprovided numbers into the work area. Pick up thenumbers and position them in the correct minute orsecond slot.

Go to ACCOUNT1 and load the calculator into thework area. To add numbers to the display area of thecalculator, select the crayon icon I=~ to go to theGraphics Tools Window. Select a small font. Returnto the work area and type the number into the display area of the calculator.

Use the various pens in the Graphics Tools Windowto create realistic or abstract original art. Select thecrayon icon I=~ to go to the Graphics ToolsWindow. Select a pen in the PENS area and selectone of the drawing tools (lines, boxes, circles or freedraw) and return to the work area.

Drop the pen at a starting point and draw with thejoystick, mouse or cursor keys. Repeat the selectionand drawing process as much as you like.
A variety of borders are offered. You will find cornerpieces, vertical pieces and horizontal pieces toassemble into your border.
When creating a border, start with the corners andwork towards the center. Select the clip articon [!] and load the border pieces into thePHOTO LAB or BANNER work area. Drop multiplecorner pieces and vertical and horizontal pieces, thenflip and position the pieces into a rectangular shape.Be creative and add text or clip art to your borders.
