Introduction
The purpose of this guide is to describe the steps required to set up the link with Aviva Wrap to obtain
valuations for Investments.
Aviva have a new Contract Enquiry system which is equipped to run valuations for all the plan types
they offer, Bond, Pensions as well as Single Wrap enquiries.
Account Advisers require this information for reporting purposes and to provide a valuation service to
their clients. Once the fund holding and cash data is setup within Adviser Office, it can also be fed into
other areas of Adviser Office for further analysis such as Portfolio Modelling in the Financial Scenario
Analysis module.
The Wrap integration will provide the valuation data used for these reports, which requires the
balance for asset values, instrument holding and cash account for each client Wrap held with Aviva
Wrap.
Getting Started
AO Users will need to have a Unipass set up for Aviva to be able to return any Aviva Wrap valuations.
Please click here for instructions on setting up a Unipass in AO.
The Aviva Platform Contract Enquiry messages will provide current balance data relating to
Instrument Holdings and Cash balances at Wrap level.
The file is based on Origo standard XML Contract Enquiry response file and available via e-
Valuations.
In order to run the new feed you will need the following –
1. Adviser Office version 10.4 or later
2. e-Valuations version 2.2.6 (If you are on v10.4 you should have been prompted to upgrade your version of e-Valuations)
3. Link your Unipass with Aviva for Contract Enquiry
4. Contact Iress Support on 0845 068300 or [email protected] if you wish to set up Wrap valuations

This is a standard upgrade for Adviser Office. The latest setup file to Upgrade Adviser Office
is available from ftp://ftp.iress.co.uk/pub/Adviser_Office/

UNIPASS Digital Certificate
Please note you will require a Unipass to use the Aviva Wrap update. If you do not have a
Unipass, to register please visit: https://www.unipass.co.uk/unipass/Pages/Apply/Apply.aspx
or alternatively contact Aviva Platform services at [email protected] or call 0845
075 6655 (Monday to Friday, 8.00am to 6.00pm) to be guided through this.
Entering the Unipass into Adviser Office.
When the Unipass is installed and you have registered with Aviva Platform, you need to then add
these details into your user account on Adviser Office.
Step 1 – Database Administration
Please go to:
Database Administration

Users
Select the user requiring access, double click on Aviva, and then tick ‘Enabled’ as shown on the
screen to the left.

You should now be provided with the option to Select ‘Certificate’ from the drop down box. You will need to select this to use the new Aviva web service.
Step 2 – Client Management
On the user’s PC go to:
Client Management
Maintenance
Update Links
Select Aviva

Select Certificate to find the current Unipass and click ok to exit out of this screen.

Setting up an Aviva Wrap Account
The Aviva Wrap plans currently on Adviser Office can be used to store the valuation data provided by
the update. Any plans which are missing can be created as new if required.
Step 1 – Investments Account
You will first need to configure and set up the Aviva Wrap, so this Wrap reference can be identified
and updated within e-Valuations, please go to:

NB: If you already have a Wrap setup, double click on the Wrap Account to check the reference has been entered as below

Step 2 – New Wrap Account
Select File
Add New
Wrap Account
Add the details as shown above, including the Aviva Wrap reference number (This will be the Aviva
Platform Client Reference number) for the Wrap Account, then click OK. (Please note the Scheme
needs to be an Aviva Wrap Scheme.)
Once the Wrap reference is added, existing plans can be added by attaching them to the Wrap as
shown below. Alternatively if no plans are setup, they can be created from e-Valuations as new within
the Wrap.

Requesting an Aviva Wrap Valuation
Step 1 – Select the client
Open the e-Business Suite
Go to e-Valuations.
Select Create New Valuation
Wrap Scheme/Account
Select the client.

Alternatively select Create New Valuation – by Wrap Scheme to run the feed in bulk.
Complete the wizard by clicking Next, using the usual settings.

Viewing the completed Valuations
Once the valuation has
completed it will appear in
green. (See example to the
right.)
If you double click into the
Wrap you will see the details
of the portfolio.
Notice that Client
Management will also
showing the correct valuation
details. (See example below.)

Dealing with Exceptions
Where more than one product is returned by Aviva Wrap, all elements of the Wrap valuation need to
be linked (or created) in order for e-Valuations to update all records.

Exception Types
Entries Highlighted in Green
Items in green are linked and the valuations can be updated. (No further action is needed.)
Entries Highlighted in Red
Items in red are unlinked. In order to resolve these exceptions use the buttons on the right to resolve
these items and then click on the exit icon to complete the update.
Entries Highlighted in Blue
Any item shown in blue are Assets, Investments, Plans or Cash and are not updated by the provider
and will be retained on AO. You can choose to merge items in Red and link to existing plans shown in
Blue.
Status Messages
If the valuation cannot complete, one of the following status messages will be shown -
Unlinked Plan - Policy reference was not found for plans within this Wrap
You have the option to select Create to add a new plan, you will be prompted to choose
which scheme to add the plan. Alternateively click Merge to link an existing Policy, you will be
prompted whether or not to update the Policy number.
Unlinked Fund – The ISIN code was not found on the Adviser Office database.
Double click on the fund to add from the Unit Prices Maintenance screen. Double click into
the fund showing as unlinked to find the matching fund on your database. The ISIN code will
be populated automatically.
Unlinked Asset – Need to manage Assets to complete the valuation
The Asset record within the valuation needs to be created, merged or ignored to complete the
valuation. Assets will be created as new automatically. Select Merge if you require to link the
asset with an existing record.
Unlinked Cash – Need to manage Cash Accounts
Link the Cash Account to an existing record or create a new one using the create or merge
button. Click Create to add the cash account, if left as New it will be automatically added.
Select Merge to link the Cash Account to an existing record against the Plan or Wrap. Once
all exceptions are resolved click the Save & Exit button and the valuation will complete.
