Awareness Programme on Fundamental Rights and Duties 31­01­19

District   Legal   Services   Authorities   (DLSA),   Sonitpur   organized   an   awarenessprogramme on Fundamental rights and duties at the Don Bosco High School premises on31­01­2019. 

Smt.   Drihata   Kakati,   Trainee   Judicial   Officer,   was   one   of   the   resource   personpresent in the programme. She stressed on the importance of understanding that rightscan not be enjoyed in isolation. Rights and duties go hand in hand. Before asserting rights,it is essential to discharge one's fundamental duties. She discussed the fundamental rightsenshrined   in   the   constitution   of   India   elaborately   referring   decisions   of   the   Hon'bleSupreme Court of India relevant  to every fundamental right.

Another   resource   person,   Sri   N.   Ghosh,   Trainee   Judicial   Officer,   spoke   onfundamental   duties   enshrined   in   the   constitution   of   India.   He   urged   the   students   toperform the fundamental duties as a good citizen of the nation. He reminded everyone thatit is everyone's duty to conserve natural resources, protect the historical monuments andtake care of the public properties, for the development of the nation. He also highlightedthe functions of DLSA and how DLSA is trying to generate awareness to build a strongnation of abiding citizens.
