Anna Dauffenbach will be installed as Redeemer’s Director of Christian Education on September 13 during the 10:45 a.m. worship service. Anna was baptized into Christ on January 19, 1992 and that began her life of faith and hope in her Savior. She was born and raised in Owatonna, MN surrounded by all of her grandparents, aunts, uncles and cousins on both sides of the family. Anna first felt the call to be a DCE during her freshman year of high school. She graduated high school in 2010 and went on to further her education at Concordia University, Saint Paul. After serving as the DCE Intern here at Redeemer for the 2013-2014 academic year and attending a final year of school, Anna received her DCE certification in May 2015. Members and friends of Redeemer are invited to join in the celebration of Anna’s Installation during the 10:45 a.m. worship service on September 13, followed by a Celebration Luncheon in the multi-purpose room. Saturday Evening KING’S KIDS Beginning September 12

5:00-6:00 p.m.

Many families with young children find worshiping together on Saturday even-ing best fits their family’s schedule. But with Sunday School occurring only on Sunday morning many times families have to choose between worshiping to-gether or having their children involved in Sunday School. Well, with King’s Kids that choice just got easier! Families with children 3 years old through 4th grade have en-joyed the option of attending worship together on Saturday evening and in-volving the kids with King’s Kids. The children begin in worship together with their parents and after the children’s lesson the kids are released to the care and guidance of the King’s Kids leaders to learn from God’s Word in an age ap-propriate manner. Each week during King’s Kids the chil-dren will learn a Bible story, enjoy craft time, interactive activities and even a light snack. Help to make your child’s Christian Education a priority and set aside time on either Saturday evening or Sunday morning to learn more of our loving God.

For more information about Sunday School or to become involved as a teacher contact

Deaconess Betty Knapp at 228-9883.

For more information about

King’s Kids or to become involved as an adult leader,

call Pam Ott, King’s Kids Director at 273-0280.

Isaiah 35:4-7a

4 say to those with fearful hearts,

"Be strong, do not fear; your God will come, he will come with vengeance; with divine retribution he will come to save you."

5 Then will the eyes of the blind be

opened and the ears of the deaf un-stopped.

6 Then will the lame leap like a

deer, and the mute tongue shout for joy. Water will gush forth in the wil-derness and streams in the desert.

7 The burning sand will become a

pool, the thirsty ground bubbling springs. James 2:1-10, 14-18

1My brothers, as believers in our

glorious Lord Jesus Christ, don't show favoritism.

2Suppose a man

comes into your meeting wearing a gold ring and fine clothes, and a poor man in shabby clothes also comes in.

3If you show special attention to

the man wearing fine clothes and say, "Here's a good seat for you," but say to the poor man, "You stand there" or "Sit on the floor by my feet," 4have you not discriminated among

yourselves and become judges with evil thoughts?

5Listen, my dear brothers: Has not

God chosen those who are poor in the eyes of the world to be rich in faith and to inherit the kingdom he promised those who love him?

6But

you have insulted the poor. Is it not the rich who are exploiting you? Are they not the ones who are dragging you into court?

7Are they not the

ones who are slandering the noble name of him to whom you belong?

8If you really keep the royal law

found in Scripture, "Love your neigh-bor as yourself," you are doing right. 9But if you show favoritism, you sin

and are convicted by the law as law-breakers.

10For whoever keeps the

whole law and yet stumbles at just one point is guilty of breaking all of it.

14What good is it, my brothers, if a

man claims to have faith but has no deeds? Can such faith save him? 15

Suppose a brother or sister is with-out clothes and daily food.

16If one of

you says to him, "Go, I wish you well; keep warm and well fed," but does nothing about his physical needs, what good is it?

17In the same way,

faith by itself, if it is not accompanied by action, is dead.

18But someone will say, "You have

faith; I have deeds." Show me your faith without deeds, and I will show you my faith by what I do.

S Mark 7:31-37

31

Then Jesus left the vicinity of Tyre and went through Sidon, down to the Sea of Galilee and into the re-gion of the Decapolis.

32There some

people brought to him a man who was deaf and could hardly talk, and they begged him to place his hand on the man.

33After he took him aside, away

from the crowd, Jesus put his fingers into the man's ears. Then he spit and touched the man's tongue.

34He

looked up to heaven and with a deep sigh said to him, "Ephphatha!" (which means, "Be opened!").

35At this, the

man's ears were opened, his tongue was loosened and he began to speak plainly.

36Jesus commanded them not to

tell anyone. But the more he did so, the more they kept talking about it. 37

People were overwhelmed with amazement. "He has done every-thing well," they said. "He even makes the deaf hear and the mute speak."

Pastor: Let us pray for the whole people of God in Christ Jesus and for all people according to their needs: We pray for the Church, that God’s people may live confidently and may joyfully share the message of salvation in word and deed.

People: “Lord, help us walk your servant way.” Pastor: We pray for the nations of the world, that the Gospel message

may be spread in every land. People: “Lord, help us walk your servant way.” Pastor: We pray for those with special concerns and needs this day:

those who are hospitalized or shut in, those who are grieving, the unemployed and underemployed, the chronically ill, and all those whose needs are not known to us. [We also share these special concerns and petitions . . .] Grant that we may bring your blessing to those in need in all places.

People: “Lord, help us walk your servant way.” Pastor: Merciful God, we thank you for all those faithful people whose

words and actions have guided us in the past, especially remem-bering those no longer with us on earth who now share in your eternal presence. By the working of your Holy Spirit, direct us to walk your servant way throughout our lives until that day when we stand in your glorious presence in heaven.

People: Amen. “Lord, help us walk your servant way.”
