How do you turn your old t-shirt into a brand new one free of charge? Participate in the newly established T-Shirt Exchange, an ongoing initiative sponsored by the Office of Student Involvement and Leadership. Follow the below steps to get your new shirt:

1. Visit The Welcome Desk while a work study student is working 

with a t-shirt or sweatshirt from another college or university

2. Exchange your old shirt for a brand new Bay State College one! A variety of sizes are available (S-XXL).

3. Show off your brand new shirt!

All shirts collected through the T-Shirt Exchange will be donated to a local shelter, so it is

encouraged that shirts are in good condition. Additionally, students are limited to collecting 1 BSC shirt, but additional donations are welcomed. 

This initiative is currently open to all Taunton students through Meryle Anderson,

and all Evening students wishing to take part in this initiative are encouraged to visit Brian Maloney during his office hours!

ADVICE TO TRANSFER STUDENTS, FROM A TRANSFER STUDENT

Being a transfer student can be extremely intimidating. Whether you’re coming from a sprawling university campus or a smaller community college, you’re entering a new environment with different trends, attitudes, beliefs, and customs, and you’re forced to adjust. It sounds scary, but if you know what resources you have around you, you’ll be able to tackle this new chapter in your life a pro! One of the biggest challenges, when you enter this new environment, is meeting people and getting involved! According to a study published by the National Student Clearinghouse Research Center, more than a third of students transfer at least once, so you’re not alone in this journey! Here at Bay State College, we want to support you on your road to graduation and professional success. Whether you need some help managing your time, have a question about financial aid, or simply need to be pointed in the right direction, the Office of Residence Life and Student Success is here to support you throughout your time at Bay State College Being a transfer student was a blessing for me and it very well can be for you too. Start right and you won't face some of the above challenges that I was faced with. To help you adjust to your new environment, we reached out to current students to see what advice they could lend! Go Rock ClimbingUp for some adventure? Check out Rock Spot Climbing for a day of climbing - they have locations in South Boston, Dedham, and throughout Rhode Island! Go Cross Country SkiingVisit the Blue Hills Reservation, located outside of Boston. There is more than 100 miles of trails to allow for visitors to cross-country ski, along with varying levels of difficulty for skiers of all ages. Bay State College has partnered with two parking garages in the local area, Motor Mart Garage

and 200 Stuart Street Garage, to offer a daily discounted rate. Bay State College offers parking

discounts off the daily rates at both advertised parking garages. Students, staff, and faculty who

wish to qualify for the discounted daily rates, will enter the parking garage and collect the

issued ticket from the garage. Once the ticket is issued, validation stickers for each garage are

able to be picked up from the Department of Student Affairs. These stickers will be placed on

the parking ticket and when it is inserted back in, it will automatically calculate the discounted

rate.

Validations stickers can be picked up from the Department of Student Affairs in 31 St. James

Avenue during the office hours of Monday through Friday, from 9:30 AM through 4:30 PM.

Extended hours until 8:00 PM on Monday and Wednesday.
