Backpack Weekend Food AssistanceDescription: Provides homeless children, K - 5, at a Sanford Elementary schoolweekend food assistance.

Purpose: To serve and Glorify God by sharing and caring for God’s children by providing food assistance.

Volunteer Opportunities:Coordinator: Oversees the administration and acquisition of food and supplies.

Team Members: Meet to package backpacks and carries them to local school.

ELEVATE Middle & High School Youth GroupsDescription: A dynamic Christ-centered youth group that glorifies God through fun,fellowship, worship, service, music and education, serving students in grades 6-12. Inturn, these students serve their families, church and community. All youth are wel-come from those who are merely curious to those who have a full-fledged desire toserve Christ.

Purpose: To serve and glorify God by leading students in their journey to knowHim, to love Him, and to become more like Him.

Volunteer Opportunities:Mentors: Individuals willing to invest in the lives of students by providing spiri-tual direction and support. Be able to commit to 6 months months of regularYouth group attendance.

Youth Counsel: Attend monthly meetings with the Youth Director, providing in-sight and input to the Youth Program. May help to choose curriculum, refinecommunication, plan activities or offer feedback. Able to commit to 6 months.

Youth Support: Individuals willing to chaperone youth events, provide food, do-nate equipment, pray regularly for students and/or drive in car pool for thoseneeding a ride. No attendance necessare but be willing to communicate monthly.

Food Pantry: “The Lord’s Pantry”Description: Provides and distributes non-perishable foods to families seeking assistance.

Purpose: To serve and glorify God by providing food assistance to those seeking assistance.

Volunteer Opportunities:Coordinator: Oversees the stocking and organizing of the food outreach pantry.Ensures applicable food supplies are available for distribution as needed.

Team Members: Shop for needed supplies and non-perishable food items forthose coming to St. Peter’s seeking emergency assistance. Prepare bags whichcontain food items to be given to recipients.

Grace ‘n Grits Homeless MinistryDescription: Prepare and serve meals for approximately 150-250 people everyWednesday evening and Saturday morning at a specified location in the community.

Purpose: To serve and glorify God by sharing and caring for all of God’s peoplethrough service to our local community.

Volunteer Opportunities:Coordinator: Purchases food supplies, recruits and schedules volunteers to setup, prepare food, greet, serve and clean-up.

Team Members: Parish members who have a heart for serving the less fortunateand who are available either Wednesday evenings or Saturday mornings. On-siteduties may include set-up, food preparation, greeting, serving and clean-up.

Grace ‘n Grits Bicycle MinistryDescription: Provide free laundry services for the less fortunate Wednesday morn-ings at a local Laundromat.

Purpose: To serve and glorify God by sharing and caring for all of God’s peoplethrough service to our local community.

Volunteer Opportunites:Coordinator: Purchases detergent, recruits and schedules.

GriefShareDescription: A 13-week support group for people grieving the loss of someoneclose.

Purpose: To serve and glorify God by supporting and caring for those who aredeeply hurting following the death of a loved one.

Volunteer Opportunities: Coordinator: Oversees the administration, facilitor training, publicity, food, registration, etc. needed in order to provide a secure site where participants feelcomfortable, accepted and free to share their feelings and thoughts.

Team Members:: Parish members who: have experienced and recovered fromgrief; profess a personal relationship with Jesus Christ; are available for 13weeks; demonstrate spiritual maturity and who have a sense of calling to helpsupport the healing process. On-site duties may include registration, marketing,setup, food preparation, facilitating, prayer ministry, AV set-up, and leading smalldiscussion groups.

Surviving the Holidays Team: Parish members who have a heart for those whoare grieving the death of someone close. On-site duties may include marketingthe seminar, ordering material, registration, decorations and set up, food prepa-ration, andfacilitating prayer ministry, AV set-up and leading small discussion groups.MISSIO

Honduras Mountain of HopeDescription: In partnership with St. Peter’s, Mountain of Hope coordinates an annual mission trip to our sister congregation in Quince de Enero, Honduras. Mountain of Hope raises and manages funds to support a permanent medical-dentalclinic, and oversees the drilling of water wells in remote regions of Honduras.

Purpose: To serve and gorify God by sharing the love of God and the knowledge ofhis son, Jesus Christ. Volunteers work in partnership with the community of IglesiaSan Pedro in developing the areas of Worship, Fellowship, Discipleship, Ministry and Mission. Mountain of Hope also ministers to physical needs through ongoinghealthcare and clean water projects.

Volunteer Opportunities:

Honduras Mission Coordinator: Responsible for organizing yearly mission trips including communications, travel arrangements, accomodations, volunteerassignments, budgeting and overall logistics.

Mission Team Leaders: Organize and plan the work activities to take place during the annual mission week in Honduras. Partner with St. Peter’s VolunteerCoordinators to recruit volunteers for individual work projects to be accomplished during the mission trip and help determine needed supplies.

Mission Team Members: Participate in a week long mission trip to Honduras.Volunteer opportunities include serving in the medical/dental clinic, assistingwith the Mission Bible School, facilitating prayer and evangelism, construc-tion/maintenance projects, and clean water operations. Local volunteers canalso assist with fund raising, collecting and packing supplies, transportation, andsupport for special patients. Bilingual skills helpful but not essential.

KAIROSDescription: KAIROS programs offer prison residents, their families and those whowork with them to receive God’s forgiveness through faith in Jesus Christ, and togrow in their faith and servanthood in Christian community.

Purpose: To serve and glorify God by sharing the love and forgiveness of JesusChrist, to impact the hearts and lives of incarcerated men, women and youth, as wellas their families, so they might become loving and productive citizens of their com-munities.

MaxLife Summer CampsDescription: While others rest during the summer break, kids are busier than ever!MaxLife meets children’s needs for activity, involvement and spiritual direction.

Purpose: To serve and glorify God by providing children with an opportunity tolearn about Jesus – and have fun doing it!

Volunteer Opportunities:Chairperson: St. Peter’s Children’s Outreach Director serves as Summer Camp Director, and organizes activities etc. to ensure the camps run as planned.

Team Members: Assist with snacks, crafts, activities/games, songs, drama, registration, supply procurement, set-up, clean-up and teaching.

MaxLife KidsDescription: Children of St. Peter’s belong to their own club, meeting each Wednesday for an evening of fun, games, Bible teachings, friendship and ACTION!

Purpose: To serve and glorify God by expanding children’s opportunities for spiritual growth.

Volunteer Opportunities:Support Helpers: Parishioners who have a heart for children and would like toassist during the school season.

St. Peter’s Preschool & KindergartenDescription: A Christian developmental early childhood program serving childrenand families in the local community.

Purpose: Believing that all children are unique creations knitted together by our Father, having their own sets of strengths, gifts, and abilities, St. Peter’s Preschooland Kindergarten strives to cultivate an environment where opportunities and experiences are provided to help children grow socially, emotionally, mentally, physically, and spiritually at their own pace and in their own time.

Volunteer Opportunities: We invite our church family to participate in PALS (Parents and Leaders of St.Peter’s). PALS is an active group supporting our school through volunteeringtheir time and talents to our special events and school programs.
